Ata and Sata confusion...please help

I have 2 ata IDE harddrives, one primary and one secondary. Winxp runs off the primary. I ran out of space so I added a new 160gb sata drive. Connected the drive to the mobo...powered up and everything.

In bios I made sure the sata on board is enabled, but once windows loads up I dont see the drive in my computer. In system devices the drive shows up but the status indicated "not intialized".

What do I do?

How do I format it? It doesnt have a letter.

Okay, I selected the Base options instead of the Raid option in bios. Now when windows loads up it says new hardware found "mass storage controller". Install drivers. This is a maxtor driver 6V160EO. There are no drivers for this on the maxtor website. What do I do now.

Right Click My Computer
Select Manage
Select Disk management
Find your new disk and format it

The SATA drivers come with your mobo - get the latest ones from your mobo mfr's web site.
