Is there any difference between the two? I have an old Dell Latitude L400 laptop with a 20GB Travelstar DJSA-220. I'm looking to get a new HD, but will an ATA-6 fit in the l400 caddy?

What's ATA-6? Never heard of that.

You need a standard 2.5" drive...should fit.

Well I'm looking at newegg and most of their laptop HD's are ATA-6. Just want a few more replies to be sure that this will work with my laptop

ATA-6 is what you know of as ATA100.

Also known as Ultra DMA 5, Ultra DMA 100, ATAPI 6, etc. Bandwidth is 100MB/s.

The 6th specification of ATA.

Most people here just call them by bandwidth and say ATA100.

EDIT: Just like how ATA 66 is ATA 5, ATA 33 is ATA 4, etc.

That will fit - and your laptop should recognize it and see the full size. However...from the looks of the thing I dunno if I would buy that one on ebay.
