ATA 133 cable works with ATA 100 hard drive?

Can the ATA 133 rounded cables work with my ATA 100 hard drive??? Im planning to buy a dual rounded cables for my hard drive, which one has lights and the best out there right now? thx.

On the 1st question, I believe the ATA66, ATA100, and ATA133 cables are all the same, with ATA133 being a pseudo-standard by Maxtor.

Because using the wrong cables (in this case, 40 pin ATA33 cables) would result in data corruption and may not work at all? So it makes sense that someone who may not know as much as others would ask, just to be sure.

On another note, ATA133 is really no different than ATA100. ATA133 is no faster in real world use, and, in fact, ATA100 is nearly as useless in terms of speed. The ATA66 speed is barely saturated even in RAID arrays and high speed transfers. The only real significant thing ATA100 and ATA133 add is the ability to support for 48-bit Logical Block Addressing to allow for hard drives over 137GB. That and the theoretical speed of 100 and 133Mb/s.
