Hi,
I want to get a RAID controller for my new CUSL2 mobo. Which one would be the best one and which hard drives to get?

I was thinking about two IBMs 75GXP 30GB or should I go the SCSI route? Maybe a X15 or Quantum Atlas II with a Tekram 390U3 160M/s?

If you're going to waste a slot, get scsi, though it's mad hell expensive... not worth it but it does free up your ide channels for future purposes.. plus scsi is better performance.

In terms of money, there is not that much difference.
If I go with the Promise ATA-100 Raid ($75.00) and 2 IBMs 75GXP ($138.00 each) and $20.00 for shipping that's a total of $371.00.

If I go SCSI, Quantum Atlas II 9.1GB ultra160 ($229.00), Tekram 390U3W SCSI adapter ($185.00) and $12.80 for shipping that's a total of $426.80

In terms of storage capacity the IDE solution would give me 51 GB more.

In terms of reliability and compatibily the SCSI would be the king.

What do you think?
