I have a Maxtor ATA 100 Card with a 60 GXP IBM on Win2k. I got the controller up and running but cannot get the drive to format. It says drive not formatted and ask if it wants to format it. It ends and say volume too long. can I use Fdisk (Win98 version) to get into there and format it (fat32) and then....set it to active partition. What is the best way to use Fdisk in this situation ? I can see the drive as well in Fdisk.

Hook your drive up to your normal IDE headers on yoru motherboard, fdisk and format it, then swap it back to yoru Maxtor card...then in your bios, set it to boot off of SCSI (maxtor card)
and that should sovle your problem
