ATA 100 and Win 2k

Okay, I am upgrading from an IWill KK266-R to an MSI K7 Master. The MSI board has ATA-100 on-board, but it does not have RAID. For my previous Win2k installs, I have had to specify a SCSI controller by pressing F6 at the beginning of setup and subsequently inserting my RAID diskette when prompted.

Will I have to do this for the MSI board? It doesn't come with any driver diskette, which makes me assume this won't be needed. However, I don't believe Win2k supports ATA-100 by default. Will I run into any problems while installing my OS?

Thanks in advance.

Since it doesn't have raid you don't need to do the F6 thing. however you might have to do it if the ata-100 isn't built into the southbridge. IE if you have the promise controller. However you only have to do that if you have the drive your booting from hooked up the the promise controller. If none of this applys to you just install service pack 2 and that will enable proper ata-100 support within w2k

Yeah, the controller is built into the VIA Southbridge, so I don't think it should give me too many problems. Anyway, thanks for the responses, and if anyone else using the K7 Master has any info, I'd appreciate it.
