I just got my ABIT AT7-MAX2 from newegg today. With the addition of the 2 serial ports, does this mean I could really connect 6 drives - each on it's own channel?

Is it either use the serial OR the HPT raid controller or can I use both in conjunction?

Here is my intended setup:

2 30gig Maxtor 7200rpm ATA 133s in RAID 0 on the HPT controller - system and MP3s
1 - Sony DRU-500A DVD writer on IDE 1
1 - Liteon CDRW on IDE 2

I also have the following drives:

80gig WD SE 8mb cache - Video Editing.
60gig Maxtor 7200rpm ATA100 - Movies
40gig Maxtor 7200rpm ATA100 - mp3 backup/other backups

Can I put some of these other drives on the Serial ATA ports?

If not, I have a Promise ATA100 2 channel PCI IDE controller that I can use.

Of course, the MAX2 only comes with 1 serial ATA cable and 1 adapter so I'd have to buy another one.
