Hmm Anubis, did you notice almost no difference in screen "real estate" when you went to 1920x1200? Now, of course this is just me trying to eyeball it, but the space in between some bars and chat windows doesn't seem to be any larger when 1920x1200 gives 30% more space. I am at 1920x1200 on a really big ass screen though.

Oh and a piece of advice to anyone looking at newer shit... DisplayPort sucks. It's like HDMI and it only realizes that a connection exists while both devices are turned on. Which means when I connected my main monitor on DisplayPort and then I turned that display off, my computer thinks I disconnected it. So, it would switch my main monitor over to my secondary one. Kinda annoying if I ever wanted to turn my main monitor off to watch a movie. I ended up switching to just using 2x DVI.

Hummm I wonder if it might be something weird with the UI scaling? When I went into full screen mode and enabled UI scale and set it to about half-way, it looked a lot like what I expected to see. I'm going to take a picture with my desktop (1920x1200) and also one with my laptop (1680x1050) and do a comparison.

It's just that the distances between certain objects... such as my character's guild chat window and autobar is still fairly small (not large enough to put anything worthwhile there), so it doesn't seem like I gained any room. Although, the really odd thing.. I copied my settings over from a 1680x1050-based setup, so why aren't my add-ons all out of whack since they should be placed based on the old dimensions?

your addons should be indeted on the left and the right slightly as well as bottom & top mine were

I dont have before and after SSes but if i look at screenshots from before and after i can def tell the difference. I play with the UI scale as small as it will go

this is about as good as a before and after is gonna get, this was before i changed my UI, the ratio is the same but there is more room on the bigger one

Question 1 - Do action bar addons now have functionality to switch when you switch specs as the Blizzard bars do? I used Bartender all during BC, but when dual spec was released, it didn't have the functionality of switching your bars based upon your spec.

Question 2 - Is that really a hilt selling for 3.5k on your server?

1) yes they swap. TBH its always worked for me even when dual spec first came out

2) no its prob someone just trolling trade chat, they sell like 8-12k still i think. last i checked the AH they were in the range. that SS is also months old so they were def higher then

Getting ready for last night before patch, only real thing I have planned is to turn in some pvp marks for mounts. If what I read is correct, mounts will now cost 50k while turning in a mark will only net 185 each. The math for this would make it a much wiser choice now to spend the 90 marks per mount than wait till after conversion.

May scan for any cheap orbs tonight, but with over 5 stacks of them banked from dungeon runs, not going to be a high priority.

I've come to the conclusion that no matter what they do to help out 'low' level questing speed it still blows pre-BC. I know a lot of people are not fans of BC but at least questing areas made sense. I hate the 40s and 50s. Currently 53 sitting in Felwood bored out of my f'n mind.

I have been doing some random dungeons to help supplement. Got into a BRD run at 49 and we ended up clearing the entire thing from beginning to end including the key quest. Was level 51 by the time it was all over. As much as I hate the old world questing I do miss the old world 5-man content.

My hunter just dinged 54 and hasn't even done felwood yet. From memory believe I'm about to enter tanaris for the higher level quest then I think it's hinterlands followed by felwood.

Right now it takes 3*30 tokens which if converted will get about 17k honor but the mounts will cost 50k, so if you have enough it's advisable to do the buys now (of course this is based on the last numbers I had seen).


I wish my shammy had enough marks now though, can't stand riding around on a damn kodo.

Looks like my guild got hit with drama this weekend. 3 of the better DPS classes all rage quit and went to another server to another guild on that server. They're DPS though, so should be easy to replace.

185 * 6 = 1110

1110 < 1495. Wonder how blizz came up with the 185 honor per mark thing.

I'm basically just hopping into Jaime's leveling guide in between dungeon crawls. That guide has you in Felwood beginning mid 52 so that's why I'm there. More than likely I'll end up leaving the place unfinished because I'll end up doing 4 or 5 dungeon runs and blowing past the need to be in that hell hole. BTW, some of the stuff is already green to me so if you wait much longer you might as well just wave at everything in Felwood on your way to Winterspring.

Sure DPS can be replaced easily. But you said 'better' DPS so I assume these were actually good players who know how to not stand in the fire? Good luck finding replacements...

I have 100 of everything because I don't need to turn them in for honor. I have everything I can get with honor, this is what happens when you grind for battlemaster/of the alliance.

Hell I probably have 1400 of the WG marks. I really should trade them in for honor->gems, but whatever...

I've been banging my head against this one too. But we're still carrying some dead weight who get hit by Blistering Cold and can't los the frost bombs because they have the reaction time of a tree sloth.
