So now that I have downed LK in 10, any 10 man group I am in, we can set the bosses to heroic? Everyone does need to have completed it correct?

only the raid leader needs to have completed it. You can change the difficulty of the boss when you get to it.

sigh... even with 5% buff we were struggling on festergut. had to bring in a lot of casuals (family members of guild members) to fill in ranks. killed him with dots after the enrage timer went off.

on the plus side, i did 7.8k dps as the tank :D

Here's a little tip for fighting Festergut as a shadowpriest.

You do not need to get any spores debuffs because you can just use dispersion. This allows you to stand in the same spot the entire fight (unless you actually get a spore on you upon which you have to run to designated spots, depending on how your raid does it).

I don't know if you already read this, but shadowpriest.com has some really good info on what to gem, BiS gear ranking, rotations, strats, etc.

I tried the dispersion technique last night and it worked awesome. I mis timed the last one and died though because my timer bar got messed up for some reason. I pulled roughly 7200 dps on Festergut. I was psyched to get 7200 since my previous record was 6700; so the strat boosted my dps by 500 (with the exact same equipment). Plus it was really nice to be able to just stand there and not move around, and dispersion allowed my mana to stay up as well.

My switch from 10 man only to 25 man raiding has been delayed...as I theorized in the past there seems to be a bit of sunwelling going on among the players. The very top tier guilds are furiously trying to constantly recruit to maintain a constant raider number and some more recently established top caliber guilds are evaporating as several of their members move on to the longer established guilds. I can only guess that this effect will get more pronounced as more kill arthas then decide not to farm him and will probably become an exponential growth when faced with a non-upgrade new raid.

Hey Anubis. I pretty much despise that case and the idea of even opening it up to make a change makes me shudder. Have you heard anything about the Cooler Master HAF 932? They have it at a local pc store for less than NewEgg, so i'm thinking about getting that or the Corsair 800D. The CM case is only $150 though which is nice since I already spent $200 on the one. I've heard the CM case has better cooling than the Corsair case, but LEDs are a negative and I assume the Corsair has better cable management.

Any thoughts? I'm too indecisive sometimes.

nice man, that's a good solid dps jump.

I need to change my spec a bit b/c I don't have improved shadowform and the reduced channeling from the constant gas dmg is hurting my dps overall in that fight.

Yeah it was nice to finally work my way into the top ten at least. I got a new toys last night too, it isn't great (I think shadowpriest has it as #14 in the two handers list) but it's proc is fun and it was definitely a big upgrade over my ICC Heroic staff:

The HAF 932 is awesome in the words of my two co-workers that have them. They each love it, for these reasons they have stated to me:

* Being that it's made of steel and one of them has kids, it's a lot sturdier than the aluminum type cases, but that also makes it a little heavier.
* Plenty of air movement and fans are very quiet
* Really easy to work with
* The wheels allow for easy movement.

The HAF comes highly recommended in the Cases and Cooling section. My friend has one, and it seems to be of a good quality. I heard it is also easy to internally watercool if you're ever into that as well.

Yeah I can't make up my mind between the Corsair 800D and the HAF 932.

On one hand the Corsair looks to do perfectly what I want it to do, but I keep reading about people breaking small parts on their cases (typically something with the drive mechanism). On the other hand the HAF 932 is almost perfect and it's damn sturdy, so it would last me a good while.

Hmm I don't think it's too bad, but like you, I prefer the simplicity of the Lian-Li cases. I'm mostly looking at what I can buy at the local store ( www.gigaparts.com ) so I can just pick it up after work. They have a few more "tamer" cases , but no 800D.

Warlock, mostly destro (yeah, yeah), sometimes aff - got dislodged foreign object last night (264).

Have Reign of the Dead (245) and Muradin's (251).

I assume Muradin's is slightly better for raiding? I've never been terribly impressed by the proc on Reign.

The Dislodged Foreign Object dropped last night in my raid group and all the casters went bananas over it. The raid literally was paused about 10-15 minutes while the officers argued in another channel about it.

Jeebus, WoW loads in about 5-8s on my SSD . I get around 60 FPS in Dalaran instead of 20-25... it's fantastic!

I'd be a bit skeptical about how much that has to do with a ssd drive as compared to the entirety of the build.

Last night started a bit crappy; guy wanted a void shatter and I said I'd do it. Started the process then realized my enchanter didn't have it and had actually done the void resist thing instead. Luckily I was able to recover as I had enough crystals sitting in my bank and just gave him those for the voids+tip he paid.

Did manage to recover later when someone was pleading to be sold 2 wildvine so I offered at 10g each and he took them. It does often pay to keep a stack or so of old world materials. ;)

Shortly after that had a guy trying to by several stacks of bronze at 25g each so managed to unload them off my smith for a nice sum. (Since my first chars was miner smith has enough mats to level without his mining and after my eng leveled I still have lots of leftovers) Along with tHe several BC blue gem stacks I won off the AH along with a couple wrath metas it was a rather nice money making day in the end.

I doubt the rest of my build affects load time that much. The difference between some crappy, old WD 300GB 7200 RPM HDD vs an Intel G2 SDD... quite big.

Now the 60+ FPS in Dalaran... that's the rest of the components doing that, but the new SSD helps me not see people as "blob shadows" (models hadn't loaded yet) for a good 30-ish seconds like I used to on my old computer.

yea i still see the "blob shadows" running a WD caviar black for like 30s, but your FPS is pretty much all tied to CPU/GPU + resoloution

Your 860+5870 is beating my 920+GTX285 because of the GPU, the 920 @ 4GHz can only do so much. It does compress Fraps footage like crazy however :D

Speaking of cpus and such, I have someone going on vacation this weekend and will be near a microcenter. I wasn't really planning on getting most of the components till this summer (mainly waiting on cpu prices to fall so I can upgrade my secondary comp as I doubt I'll want to spend the premium to swap the 280 out of my primary) but I was thinking about picking up one of those $220 i7-930s. Anyone been keeping up with product release and such to know how that will compare with the non-absurd price point top of the line stuff?

all the top of the line stuff is absirdly priced so im confused as to what you are asking

if you are asking about preformance just look at the 980x review anand did the 920/30 is on there i think,
