A good choice on the case. I've had a few Lian-Li cases (the V1000 (my mom has this one), V1100 (my current PC case) and the V1200 (my server's case)) and they've all been fantastic. Unfortunately, Lian-Li doesn't even make anything close to the same design anymore, so I had to look elsewhere. The only thing I'm worried about is the size of my HSF is well... it's really fucking big. I don't know if my case will be wide enough for it :p.

Also, why's your HDD LED lit up like it's the Power LED?

EDIT:

Interesting choice on the blu-ray drive. I considered going with a Blu-Ray burner, but given the price of the media (not terrible, but still a little expensive) and the fact that all I ever burn to disc is anime and most anime fits on 1-2 DVDs... it just isn't worth it. Although a Blu-ray drive might be interesting, but my thoughts on that are the cost of one is around $80-100 and you can get a blu-ray burner for $150... so given that a DVD burner is ~$30, you might as well just buy a blu-ray burner unless you really want multiple drives.

because the LEDs on this case are bright as shit, that is the HDD Led its blue when theres no activity and red when its doing shit, the power LED is a different one i have a small piece of electric tape on because its too damn bright. its actually whats making the HDD LED look blue i think when nothings going on

also assuming the camera flash has something to do with it

yea its a shame they don't make all of these cases anymore, they did for a few years after i got mine but they changed the motherboard layout back to "normal". but they even stopped making those. Next time i get a new case it will most likely be a Corasir 800D/700D unless i can find a V2000B

Newegg still sells the V1200 - its like the only one still out there
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112065

Its not a BR burner just a drive, actually its a BR player + DVD burner, i don't own an HDTV so any BR movies i watch on the comp, I don't really need the 2nd burner in there and i plan on taking it out, I need to order a 5.25 bay cover which is why its in there. It was also an xmass gift

What case are you looking at and what HS again?

I hope the guy that decided that putting bright blue LED's in every computer case was a good idea dies in a fire.

Nah, there's no inactivity color, but the blue from the power LED bleeds down. I took a closer (potentially retina searing) look at my V1200B. But honestly, the Lian-Li case LEDs aren't that bright. The worst thing I've ever owned when it came to seriously bright LEDs is my D-Link Gaming Router. It was so bright that it illuminated my room to the point where I couldn't sleep and had to put some piece of unopened junk mail over it just to mask it. Of course, this was in my other apartment where my bed was directly across from my desk so it was facing me.

But I've never had an issue with my case's LEDs. But my case is on the floor and that could mean that since it's never at eye level, it doesn't bother me.

Let's hope they come to their senses and start making them again ;).

That Corsair 800D is actually pretty nice... I wonder why I never saw it on NewEgg and I can see why I never saw the V1200... I only search for black cases :p.

Oh and it seems I got my case models wrong... I have a V1000B, V1200B and V2000B.

I had to put my new parts in my other room because they were taunting me so :(.

www.aikouka.com/DSC00230.JPG

You can see how large the box is on the cooler :p. There's some dead space in the box (where the backplates and stuff are), but it's pretty damn tall.

I wish i had the 1200 simply because its longer then the 1000 however IDK if it was being made when i got this thing

That's actually why I upgraded from the v1000 to the v1200... the v1000 just didn't have enough room in it and everything was so crowded. When I upgraded to the v1200, I had so much spare room and that was with a 8800GTX in it. The v2000 really isn't too necessary unless you want a few more HDD spots and an ass ton more 5.25 bays. It's also very tall... it sits a few inches taller than my TV stand.

You can get an idea of what it looks like in these pictures:
http://www.aikouka.com/pictures/03.jpg
http://www.aikouka.com/pictures/08.jpg

also this is why FPS numbers in wow cant really be benchmarked

http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/178/wowscrnshot031410193232.jpg

Well, that's why I don't care how many FPS I'm going to get while I'm sitting on my ass :p. I want to know how well I'll do on a boss fight on average. Two of the more important numbers to look at are minimum FPS and average FPS and for me... they're pretty bad right now.

My guild did Festergut and Rotface last night, I tried a few new tweaks and hit 6700 dps on Festergut. It's nice to finally be getting higher up there. I noticed as a shadowpriest that if I constantly just spam devouring plague when moving from the spot I normally stand to where they gather the spores it allows me to keep up my damage using the instant damage portion of the spell.

We seem to be stuck now on Dreamwalker and we're having a heck of a time forming the correct strategy for this encounter. I know, we're noobs, etc. but seriously does anybody have some advice on this encounter? What we've tried so far is to have one group in the back, one in the front, for dps'ing down the adds, with one tank on each side. The problem seems to be there is this huge slow area which makes getting to the burning skeletons really hard. We tried a right / left attempt as well, which went better but we still just weren't keeping up.

I think it may partially be the healers failing, since on one occasion after 5 minutes the dragon was still not even healed to 70% when we wiped.

Here's a little tip for fighting Festergut as a shadowpriest.

You do not need to get any spores debuffs because you can just use dispersion. This allows you to stand in the same spot the entire fight (unless you actually get a spore on you upon which you have to run to designated spots, depending on how your raid does it).

I don't know if you already read this, but shadowpriest.com has some really good info on what to gem, BiS gear ranking, rotations, strats, etc.

I just wish they'd hurry up and get the frost orb vendor online. About to go 3 digits deep in the things. Can't win a roll on a need item to save my life, but I'm breeding the damn orbs.

And of my god it sucks trying to upgrade weapon/offhand for a shammy caster. Have tossed several spell swords but the daggerd/mace/staffs just won't drop.

we do left/right on dreamwalker... interrupting the frost bolt nova thing is pretty key.

Yeah the frost nova is annoying. The raid leaders have been calling people out to get onto the burning skeletons to have them killed ASAP but the lich-type things (I forgot the name offhand) will sit there spamming frost bolt and messing people up. Our dreamwalker attempts to so far have been complete fails.

On my server right now Eternal fires were going for 50g last I checked and frost orbs 20g. I've been buying a ton of them, I didn't manage to get in on the "fire sale" though when they were down to 7g.

My rotation is tight and my dps is close to maximized for my gear level; gear seems to be the main thing holding me back right now. I'll take your advise on the dispersion thing though and hopefully the raid leader won't yell at me when I try it LOL. I already am a member over at shadowpriest.com for over a year.

Alright Lich King killers, my 10 man group is still working on Arthas. We are having issues with P3 and the spirits. Our raid setup is the following:

Paladin - MT
Druid - OT
Tree Druid
Resto Shaman
Holy Priest
Arcane Mage
Arcane Mage
Marks Hunter
Elem Shaman
Ret Paladin

Basically the AOE we have doesn't hit the spirits, so DPS is forced to single target them. We can usually handle the first round of spirits by killing most and kiting the rest. But when subsequent rounds of spirits start totally messing us up. Any words of advise on these things when you don't have a lock or SP?

Well, just make sure you let the raid know what you are doing so they won't freak out when they see you standing in one place haha.

I should mention to just use dispersion during the big pungent blight move by festergut, though I'm sure you knew what I meant. Sometimes people who don't know of this strat will use dispersion too early or too late. If used correctly, the CD will be up by the time the next pungent blight is cast.

I need a new UI so badly, I keep seeing people with these clean UI's. Where can I get a starting point for one? Or do I have to literally fiddle around.

Here's my current on:

My UI:

Chatter
DBM
Decursive
Dominos
EPGP
Errormonster
Healbot Continued
Minimap Button Frame
oRA2
Outfitter
PallyPower - Alt
Preform AV Enabler
Skada Damage Meter
Train Conductor
X-Perl

*I know not the greatest picture :p

it's possible to 100% copy someone's UI if they give you their interface\addon and wtf folders and you overwrite yours with theirs... I'm surprised it's not done more often, tbh. I did it for my sister way back in the day.

Arent the addon preferences kept in /(account)/(character) folders too?

ick @ healbot, I hate that addon. (raid frame of choice) + (mouseover macros and/or clique) are vastly superior, IMO. I use Grid + Clique.

Honestly, I prefer a DIY UI over someone else's UI compilation. There is no way someone else is going to have a UI that I feel is perfect for me anyway, and most people don't play at my resolution (most people who play this game seem to play at 1280x800, I play at 1920x1200) so their UI wouldn't look right for me anyway.

yeah I play at 1920X1080

I've used HealBot since Kara it's a hard mod to get away from TBH :/

I still do decent in raiding, we aren't like a hardcore progression guild, on Sin 25 and just got the first wing down in heroic 10

World Of Logs - I'm not terrible!

:p

have 1 mage go fire for LB or have a tank taunt them with shadow res gear on
