i have a mimiron's head on my shaman but i'm kinda greedy and want one on my paladin too :p

i'll actually settle with finishing my shadowmourne though. i still have two infusions left. if i can get those finished before cata i'll be happy.

Don't you still need the umpteen amounts of Shadowfrost Shards after the three infusions?

Yes, 50 of them

At current drop rates (based on my luck and my guild and the number of HMs we've been doing) I'll have enough Nov 1st!

i'm not concerned about obtaining the 50 fragments so much as i am finishing the infusions this expansion. i can slowly kill bosses next xpac with fewer than a full raid. finishing blood queen with fewer people will be slightly less enjoyable and/or doable. i think we'd still need like 16 people? and even then we'll have to throttle our dps in order to have time to finish the infusion! (my numbers may be off but i do think i'll require more people than will probably be willing to run it :(

we had three completed shadowmournes in the guild before i stopped raiding 2 months ago. i'm sure they have finished at least one more by now. i was always an alt on my paladin, even though i would tank and heal for most of the hardmodes including hlk25 on certain nights when tanks were lazy or busy.

You should only need... 8 people? You need to receive blood mirror first and then be the first to get bitten. So you bite once, and there are 2 vampires, bite again and there are 4 vampires... bite the third time, and there are 8. If you want a more guaranteed chance, you'd need 16 (so you could be the second person bit).

8 will certainly be pushing it. i'm not sure we will kill her with so few people though. it's a tricky situation! hopefully i can get it completed in these random gdkps i run or maybe i can find a guild on the new server to purchase the infusions from. fortunately i can pull my weight as either spec in any hardmode running icc25 so that'll help my chances.

oh and i have something kind of hilarious to admit. i recently moved 2 characters to a new server, as did a friend of mine. we moved from our "one-time great guild" to a guild of about 6 members consiting of real life friends. well, i moved over all my hierloom gear so that i don't have to purchase it all again. today, i ran a random dungeon on my mage (the one i stole the heirloom gear from) on my old server, bonechewer. the healer started acting like a punk kid after about 4 pulls when he noticed i had no weapon, trinkets, shoulders or chest equipped. all the other members in the group told him to forget about it seeing how i was still carrying the group in damage. the guy refused to heal me for the entire run and then on the two mid bosses that threw out random shadow bolt damage i died as a result of him playing poorly. the point is a question actually. as much as i understand i was hindering the run by having those item slots empty, i'm of the belief that a healer that refuses to do his job is hindering the run even more. have you all ever experienced something like this? disclaimer: i realize i should not have queued up but i consider myself a non-drool player and i'm capable of still pulling my weight...even with a few items missing.

Some people are just too darned picky. As long as someone doesn't do something really dumb, I don't care. I've been the tank and topped the DPS meter more than I can remember... so what, they still played properly, and hey, I don't have to worry about overzealous DPS that loves to pull aggro ;).

i don't remember people laughing about the holiday mount

i remember people being pissed it was a free 310% one

The Official Forums were so full of People laughing at those of us who got the Holiday Proto cuz it was purple.

The Official Forums were also full of people hating because it was a 310% mount.

Personally, i don't give a crap if it's purple or pink sparklies... it's 310% .. and it's what i use!

anyone else getting numerous phishing emails from "Blizzard Entertainment" but the actual FROM email is someone's hacked gmail or hotmail acct? I've gotten like 4 at various times today... it basically says a change has been made and if you didn't do it you better log in via this link (some long wow-account-manage.com phishing address).

I'm wondering why I'm being targeted... or if everyone is... if I'm at particular risk or something.

You get such a wide range of people who get their kicks from being antisocial or leeching in the LFD queue, its hard to say exactly where he was coming from. Shoulders and weapon are probably the 2 most visible gear slots from appearance standpoint, he probably thought you were planning on wiping the group. Or he was just one of those anal retentive MMO player types who for some reason always roll a healer.

Yeah, seriously. I would have kicked on principle when I saw missing gear. There's just no excuse for that, hacked or not. Especially the weapon...

i'm not saying i was in the right for queueing for a dungeon with empty item slots, but did you even read my post and do you even recall why those item slots are empty? how do you feel there's no excuse for that? sure i could purchase an item on the ah as a filler, but how is that hindering the group's success more than a healer who refuses to heal? please keep in mind that i was pulling 1200 single target dps...at level 70...in quest and dungeon blues WITHOUT those items equipped. i was carrying the group in dps. you're entitled to who you'd like to group with but if you're queueing for a dungeon and receive someone like me who knows what i'm doing, is topping the damage charts while utilizing cc when needed and has a GREAT reason for not having those items equipped, how can you say "there's no excuse for that"? vote kick all you want for me not having those items equipped until i am able to find new items but don't give an ignorant response like "there's no excuse for that".

edit: would you vote based on principle? i can understand that. but why would you consider a vote kick for the top dps in your group if it's not simply based on principle?

Only interesting nugget from latest ptr is that the epic gem transmute c/d is gone.

so i started working on soloing aq40 the other night. apparently i can kill skeram and sartura with ease now. i think i'll have to work something out as prot for fankriss. i didn't attempt the bug family yet. i kinda feel like i'll be able to kill everything up to twins. so far i've solo'd all of zg, aq20, mc and of course onyxia pre 6th anniversary or whatever. anyone have any hints on fankriss? i only attempted it as prot once and during that attempt the snakes spawned 3 at a time after minute...needless to say i failed that attempt :p

I honestly don't think I would have done a single pull.

Especially at lvl 70... All the intro BC quests gear you out incredibly fast. But let's not bicker about a 5-man pug here. ;)

i do agree it's not worth bickering about :p, however i can't help but feel that you still don't fully understand what happened. the random dungeon finder is a great utility to use while questing. my mage was wearing full heirloom items in the slots that are missing so as i quest to replace those items, i queue in the dungeon finder. after two full hubs of quests, i finally have the queue pop (as you may know, 30 minutes in queue is not uncommon for dps classes). after a few pulls, the healer notices my missing items and decided that he will no longer heal me and threatened to kick me in "6 more minutes" when the option is available. you sound like you may have reacted in a similar way. although i understand this healer's frustration, would you agree that this healer could have handled the situation in a more mature manner seeing how he was stuck with me in the group for another 6 minutes while everyone else in the group insisted he stop acting like a child b/c of my more than satisfactory performance despite missing a few items?

I was in a DTK heroic and the dps wiped because the tank couldn't hold aggro to save his mom... the healer asked us to run back - we were near the beginning of the instance. Granted I could have but the guy's job, as he stood over us out of combat, was as simple as clicking 1 button. I'm an enhancement shammy right now and even I try to rez the dead before anyone else.

The rest of the run he refused to heal me because I told him it was part of his job. If he aggro'd a mob I'd run over to get it off, and not even as the tank. Gotta love players with sticks up their asses.

Its also your job to watch threat. Count to five before dpsing or something.

Ignoring possible gear disparities, you can still have problems because people are just bad at threat gen. Of course there are also problems with people attacking some random mob that isn't really being focused on by the tank. But, if you hold back because of poor threat gen... sometimes people get on your case about "horrible DPS".

Heck, an Enhancement Shaman usually has it bad in burn fights because our DPS is so darned variable. For example, I was in an OS3D-10 burn and my DPS wasn't too great. Looking at my damage breakout, I saw incredibly low WF proc'age.
