Did some Al'Akir last night and I have to say... I actually think that fight is kind of fun. Although, it seems people really have trouble with the tornadoes more than anything... I found that as melee, I have to be careful how I wrap around them or I could be picked up if I cut my angle too shallow. They're also rather faint when they haven't fully appeared yet, so you gotta be careful when you see the light swirls around you!

I don't think I've used Ghost Wolf as much before as a Shaman as I have in that entire fight .

it makes water look shiny and can actually improve FPS. other then that IDK

as for shamans, i have no idea about how they are in PVP

Elemental is terrible, but Enhance is decent. I forget the new name for the Enhancement shaman cleave...

Enhance shamans are pretty good coupled with an arms warrior or DK; elemental shaman are still terrible. Turning on DirectX 11 offers some free performance gains, apparently.

Along those lines:

I tried not long after Cata's release, and my computer didn't like running the game in DX11 mode. (i7 and an ATI 4870x2) The game threw errors and randomly crashed a couple times a day. While it was running, it was clearly faster, along with nicer water and particle effects.

Crashing is unacceptable, though, so I removed the DX11 entry, and performance/stability was restored to normal. I do not know if the crashes were related specifically to DX11, or if the issue was related to a dual chip GPU running in DX11 mode. There's definitely the possibility for the latter, since we know that WoW isn't tuned for Crossfire/SLI.

Last week, I replaced the 4870x2 with a GTX570. The newer card/different maker may not have the issue. Since our raid schedule resumes tonight (cleanup today, then Tues~Thurs), I'll try again next weekend and see if the newer card works better.

Our enchancement Shammy kicks ass, BTW. Our Ele isn't bad, either.

i dont have issues with it on a 6870 same CPU. could have been a dual card issue

Well our guild had its first successful take down of Argaloth last night. Yes I would say we are a bit behind the curve here but still it was satisfying after our last attempt where we couldn’t manage to get him below 30%

I had challenged all or DPS to be above 10K which is the minimum needed from 6 DPS to beat the enrage timer on the fight. Our Rogue and our Loc were both seriously under performing hitting around 7.5 to 8 K DPS, they both went out to Elitist Jerks and did some serious adjustments to their gear by re-forging as well as changing some talents and gems.

On this fight the Rogue came in with the best DPS at over 13K, I came in second with just under 13K and the Loc was a few hundred points behind me.

After we finally downed him one of our tanks, who is one of the quietest people in our guild said “I think we have him on farm” which was responded to by a lot of laughter but the bottom line is our core raiding group is finally coming together.

Surv hunters already got a huge nerf. They aren't very good anymore. Most people switched to Marksman but then aimed shot got nerfed too. I don't know. I mothballed my hunter for now until they figure out what they want to do without changing things every few days.

Well I managed just under 13K DPS last night against Argaloth as a BM hunter. The added DPS that Ghost Crawler brings to the party is pretty amazing. I now have an entire set of pets that I can use depending on what buffs the group needs.

Lava breath to slow casters from my green Core Hound, Ancient Hysteria from my red Core Hound, Embrace of the shale spider if we don’t have a Druid in the group from my.. You guessed it shale spider, and in a large group where all these buffs redundant I use the Spirit beast for more DPS.

I found it a lot harder to raid as a Beast Master but once you get used to the priority it’s a lot of fun. My guild is okay with me raiding as a BM as long as I give them the DPS they need and they love my CC abilities.

Sure there are still the “Stupid Hunter” tricks that happen from time to time, like forgetting to put the pet on passive when doing an initial pull and trap… But that’s all part of why people just love us hunters… Right?

Yeah, they're 10.1 cards. I just wasn't worrying about being too specific .

I have dx11 enabled on my 4890. I don't know if it does anything but the game is perfectly stable.

Take it with a grain of salt though. We have dozens of rankings each week but keep our logs private. Every guild that has their logs private is excluded from here. However it should give you a sense of how any given class is doing.

If you are just worried about PvP, then level your DK. DK's are gods right now in arena. Double Blood DK, healer 3's team ftw!

Would it be wise to spend the Valor points I've been saving on for Tier 11 gloves with the impending patch 4.1 around the corner? I'm a warrior tank who doesn't raid due to schedule conflicts with my guild, but I'd probably do it if they went on the weekend sometime. I run Baradin Hold every week but I never get the drops as I'm just unlucky. All of my gear is at least ilevel 346 or above from running all the heroics repeatedly with some 359's (Icebone Hauberk, Elementium Earthguard, Hardened Elementium Girdle, Wrap of Great Turtle, Sandguard Bracers) thrown in.

If they make Tier 11 purchasable with JP's, I'm inclined to agree with you. I'm just hoping for clarification on what they are going to do with the Valor Points when 4.1 goes live. Ensuring I run my daily heroic for them seems crappy if they just get demoted at patch time.

I play a Warlock and had a blast on the attempts. I have been trying to recruit people to expand our 10 man to a 25 man but wow, it is hard to get ranged DPS and healers. Everyone in our guild has a tank, 5 man heroics are so quick most of the time.

I must have missed that post, but I'm not terribly surprised. Did they say what they'd do if you have a surplus?

Worship didn't bother me so much, but I'm still kind of unsure of how exactly you stop it. I thought you could interrupt the person and it would work, but that did not seem to be the case. We just had a warlock use Shadowfury each time since stuns remove it.

Yes, in 4.1 along with the next raid tier (Sulfuron Spire -- Ragnaros in all his leggy-ness )

Spirit Beasts offer no extra DPS over any other exotic pet or really any other ferocity pet. When I play BM I carry: Core Hound for BL/30&#37; slow, Shale Spider for kings, Silithid for Fort, Raptor for sunder armor, and Devilsaur for 5% crit in that order. IF all of those are covered I use my corehoud raptor or devilsaur because Ferocity pets are ahead in DPS as BM right now.

Outside of pet talents no pet has more dps than another. Bring a spirit beast if you need Agility and Strength buff or your raid doesn't need a buff from you.

(All of my pet choices change based on our raid comp for the evening thats my not knowing whos going to be there setup)
