5%->15% isn't going to help people handle beams correctly on Corla, which I spent way too many wipes on last night.

I'm surprised now that I find more PUGgers capable rather than incapable. Many runs include complete silence because everyone knows what to do by now. It was brutal first couple months but DM, GB, BRC, no problem now. Even did full pug DM in 49 minutes the other night (I know cause I had 11 mins left on poisons).

can't mages just blink into the hunters' melee range and frost nova them in place then wave goodnight?

BTW, YES PATCH!!!!!

I'm pretty sure they removed the "dead zone" for ranged attacks a while ago. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I had a DM run last night that took well over an hour. I kept telling them on Foe Reaper that I refused to tank him on the ramp and that I was going to tank him on the floor. We pull the boss and they run up the ramp :\. Not to mention someone that was completely awful at the Reaper asked to use it. The prototype reaper ended up dying... that's how bad they were.

I actually like PUGs where people just do their job and don't have to have their hand held. I also prefer PUGs where the healer is geared enough so I don't have to CC :D.

It still exists: Hunters do have a minimum range.

A hunter's dead zone refers to how they had a 0-5 yard melee range but a 8-35/40 yard ranged range. Between 6 and 7 yards, you could not be hit by a hunter. A good PVPer back in the day could keep within this dead zone.

Not scanning anything, just having ZA on gives me the infinite loading bar bug. Many of the related infinite load bar bugs supposed to be fixed with this release.

Anyone play on the ptr and have an idea of how much this will fubar out addons?

Also with so many talent changes, is there a list of classes getting a talent wipe on login?

Nobody is getting a talent reset, changes weren't that drastic. If anybody cares enough, then I'm sure they can figure out how to get the 66g or whatever it is to respec.

So, first heroic since patch. No CC at all on anything, everyone was at or over 10k dps.

Some talents got changed from the tier they were on, that sounds significant.

a 15% boost can do that to ya.

I tested out my shadow offspec to see how the buffs to spriests worked out. With 4.0.3, I could consistently hit right below 8.1k dps on the boss dummy. This was throughout probably 5 or 6 attempts, never could quite get over 8.1k but always over 8k. With the same gear and spec on the same boss dummy in 4.0.6, I was keeping my dps right at 9.9k without doing anything different.

I'm no spriest expert either, I don't even bother with watching for empowered orbs, I just go through my priority system. Pretty huge buff IMO, I'd be interested to see how the experts are doing.

Heh, wow... people must be really taking the 15% buff pretty seriously. I have a healer in my H-SFK group that has probably half melee DPS gear on. The person literally has 50k mana!

Hopefully the buff going live helps to bring the queues down below the 45 minute + mark.

Patch day seemed to go fairly well though. The download only took a couple minutes and install went just as quick. Also managed to log in without killing ZA so hopefully that is indeed fixed. Only had one mod show any problems so far (quartz) and the rest stayed current without selecting load out of date.

There is some post on mmoc from blizz saying something about a haste bug with the patch though. Something about haste for special abilities being configured wrong between client and server: server is keeping proper tracking but client is visually refreshing quicker so nothing happens if you hit a button to use that ability.

@ quarts being buggy

open up the config file in modules-player (i think) and put a "--" no quotes before the line with Drain Mana in it

that will being back the latency bar as well as the marks for channel ticks

Yeah, this worked for me. The problem was with Drain Mana being completely removed from the game so an exception was being thrown when the addon was trying to gather info about it.

Bagnon is completely borked for me though. I HATE using the default bags and hope this gets fixed soon. I looked for alternative bag addon but it, too, was bugged according to the comments on curse, so I'm assuming they all are bugged.

I've been using arkinventory for the last couple of years. In general I think it's pretty much like bagnon, I just swapped when the guy I used to get my mod compilation from switched.

Bagnon has been fixed since yesterday.

Amusingly, I had issues with it after I updated my add-ons, and turns out it got updated only shortly after I updated my add-ons the first time :p. A quick second update and I was good to go. I think it's version... 2.16 that you need?

Did you have to respec aff.? I have a friend who is an aff. lock who had some troubles yesterday w/ dps, so would like to let him know.

no demo/destro

the destro one was stupid, they moved ISF and Aftermath but kept the points in the same place and didn't move them with the ISF move, could have easily been done. Demo only changed slightly more.

I actually don't play Aff, for some reason i really don't like how it plays now. but not much should have changed with how it plays, he will need to respec you don't have to get ISF anymore do you can spec into a few more things in the demo tree for DPS/survivability IIRC

also use Succubus, i cant read EJ at work but im pretty sure that's it

Did my daily random with my normal guild group with 1 dps pugged. Killed each boss about 1min quicker than my pervious records with basically the same group minus the pug who was worse than anyone in guild. My dps as a tank went up from 6-7k to 8-10k depending on the pull. single target I was around 8k. If I had to guess I'd say they dropped the hp of everything in the instance 10-20%. Heroics were a joke before, even worse now.

I also like their slap in the face jp vendor. 3000 jp for 20 random herbs, come on thats just insulting. They're saying the 346 gear is worth less than a stack of random herbs...

No, hunters are pretty screwed in pvp at the moment. Everyone knows this.

This same thing has been said since Season 1. The fact is that hunters take more skill to play effectively. Managing your range and keeping melee classes at bay took some effort with most of the legolas hunters out there couldn't handle. The way I handle this is to think about every class and how each of their mechanics is going to get/keep me in melee (i.e. Deathgrip, Charge, Intercept, etc.) Then use your CD's effectively to negate these abilities.

For ranged DPS, pillar hump when necessary. A good healer partner is also not something to take for granted. A healer that knows how the hunter class works is invaluable and can provide the necessary CC when you are deep frozen or feared and getting burst.

After this patch, hunters are just crazy. If you have a 359 ranged weapon, you are basically a wrecking ball as marks. Chimera shots and instant aimed shots provide more burst than a frost mage.

Druid shrooms are ridiculous and awesome now. My highest detonation yesterday was for 198k. The ability to use starfall without aggroing everything in the vicinity is awesome. I hear it is bugged but it seemed fine for me and never pulled anything not in combat. My average dps went up a few k.
