At what time can I legitamitely gripe about neighbors' music?

XMan

I honestly can't hear what song they're listening to, but the sound from their subwoofer is going through the shared wall, my living room, the wall between my bedroom and living room, my bedroom, and to my bed, which is against the opposite wall.

I was taking a nap, but no more, I guess.

Oh - these aren't college students. They're adults, late 30's, early 40's, with two kids.

Just get a knife, cover it with some fake blood and hair, and write on a piece of paper "Sleep is the only thing that keeps me from murdering." and stick that puppy to their door with the knife, then give the door a couple of your best kicks and run like hell.

If you go next door and politely ask MichaelD to turn his subwoofer down I'm sure he will accomodate you. It really pisses him off when people rat him off to management, though. 😀

Sorry, MichaelD, I just couldn't pass it up. 😛

😉 Hey, ALL my GFs have been cute!! I just don't have one of those wife-things yet. 😀

I won't comment on your situation...too much. All I will advise is to go talk to him about it. If he's a dick, rat his ass out.

There is NO legitimate time, PERIOD! If the music is loud enough to be heard anywhere in your house, it is too loud. Time of the day is irrelevant.

Fighting fire with fire in this case is also wrong. Why make more people suffer? Remember, two wrongs don't make a right.

Cheers!

Talk to them about it. It may be that simply lowering the volume to the subwoofer might help. Also possible that the orientation of the subwoofer (those darn homo subs!) could help. Above all, talk it out. Communication is key and they may not be aware of how disturbing the bass is.

It's a part of life when you rent/own a townhouse..etc.

You can't do anything about it except abandon your nap and listen to music too, at a level that hides their music or better yet, go out and do something like laundry/errands, whatever. You will just get an ulcer if you think about it too much. Trust me , been there.. done that.. lol

Now, if they get back from a party at like 2:00am and crank the stereo and get wild.. then you cause to knock on their walls to give them a hint or whatever.. or maybe even call the police if it gets too wild.. but that's a last resort ! It's not a good idea to make enemies of neighbors 😉

I got up and went to Blockbuster. I came back, they were done. Problem solved.

Find out what the City ordinance says about it; or just ask a cop.
Talking to neighbors usually doesn't work. Cops talking to neighbors usually does work.

edit: and besides, if you don't talk to them first they won't be sure who called the cops, and won't know who to retaliate against.
