at what distance do you

sit from your computer screen?

and is there a guideline or hurting eyes topic if sitting too close?

i sit about 3 feet away from my 1200p 24"

but i got another one 1440p 27" and at the same distance i feel like it hurts my eyes. Is it me or it does that to someone else as well?

If i push the 27" away like 4-5 feet, i find the small characters hard to read !

There are many calculators and people that argue about this. The simplest answer is: you should sit at a distance that you can read the screen without straining your eyes and allows you to sit with good posture.

If you're not comfortable or can't see, then it's not right. Adjust until it is.

27" 1440p 144Hz most of the time around 3-4 feet in couch potato mode with my feet on the coffee table.

Maybe brightness is too high on your 1440p monitor?

I'm a a few inches more than arm's length from my two screens.

And second the brightness comment. Lowering the brightness on your monitor is almost always a good idea.
