technically speaking.....BBSs don't count ;)

BBSs aren't quite the same thing. They aren't really interconnected although they sure were fun to connect to :D

28.8k external modem on the $4k PowerMac my dad decided to buy for us :p
I probably did a bit of whatever kid stuff there was on there at the time.

Didn't start using the net extensively till I got a Dreamcast in 2001 (age 10). When I got it, it was the fastest modem in the house.

I was about 15 so probably 1998.

I used to chat on IRC and in local chats on free shell boxes, IM (ICQ), play Subspace/Starcraft, etc.

1994, age 10 probably? Dialing in with my IBM PS/2 25mhz(?) Intel 386, on Windows 3.0 (upgraded to 3.1 sometime later). I loved that Prodigy maze game, but it never fkkin ended

Well I was familiar with online/dialup BBSs.. the internet just looked very disorganized, that was my first impression.

mid-1996, when I used to live in Colombia. I remember those 14.4 Kbps days, lol. Using lots of ICQ and MS Comic Chat and Internet Explorer 3.0 :)
