"Activists for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals rushed the stage as Gisele Bundchen strutted down the runway in a beaded bra and panties, thigh-high black stockings and red strappy heels. The four female protesters, carrying signs that read "Gisele: Fur Scum," shouted at the supermodel as she calmly completed her runway turn."

Don't think it worked, though.

Still looking good...

Is this supposed to be shocking?

Not like I've never seen a skinned animal before.

BFD!

Hmm. never had me some fox stew before.

But seriously, isn't that a waste of animal just for that ad? (more so than hunting for its fur or to thin out marrauding packs that attack livestock?) I swear, PETA folks just don't understand nature at all.

Am I the only one who would like to see a bunch of PETA folks locked in a room with a dozen
hungry badgers high on PCP? ;)

From the same slide show:
Moby poses after winning the Best Male Video Award at the MTV Video Music Awards AT New York's Metropolitan Opera (news - web sites) House Thursday Sept. 6, 2001. The vegan musician is urging people to call Butterball's holiday hot line , but not to learn how to stuff, roast, or carve thier Thanksgiving turkey. He wants people to tell them '...there is no proper way to kill and cook these beautiful birds,' the techno artist says in a message he recorded for PETA.

Obviously the words of someone who has never seen an actual living turkey. They are anything but beautiful.

Or maybe if the model was actually wearing fur.

On another note; How the hell do fashion designers make money? How much does it cost to put on one of those shows? You know that no one actually going to buy that thing she's wearing...

looks yummy, I'd like to stick that in my crock pot with some nice veggies.

Shame the guards were not armed, would have loved to see them get clubbed like a baby seal (bad humor i know, so shoot me....first thing that came to mind though)

My question is, didnt they have to kill a fox to make the ad?
I hope not..not too many creatures make my DoNotKill unless necessary list..but the red fox is one..

saw one on the expressway yesterday had been ran over by a car...growth( new suburb/office complexes..no habitat..) causes displacements..:( fox is kin to dog..

of course its normal for you! lol you live in the middle of no where in oregon! most people who live in or near cities wouldn't have seen such things before.

Actually, I live in a major city. I have a 3 mb cable line, phone service, flush toilets, and electricity.

:p

On the other hand, I've walked out my parents' front door many times to find my brother slicing open something he either shot or found. "Hey look Gregg, it's a squirrel's nut sack!"

Not the actual item but the line of clothes based off them. That line of clothes are often sold in exclusive shops in very fashion rich shopping areas. An original from one of designers that puts these shows on can run in the neighboorhood of $5000 for a single piece. When you see a major awards show for movie or music in hollywood every woman at the show is wearing one of those designs.
