At this rate, I'll be in college for 6 years.

I've been wondering what to change my major to and all I can think about is Graphic Design. I'm not even that good at it yet. If I start now (going into 2nd year) then I'll be here for 6 years total just finishing the major. I have to take the core classes and take 132 units for the major including GE courses.

I'm hoping to just minor in it and find my major at the end of the summer though. Still don't know what I wanna do.

All I've been doing is taking GE courses. Feels like I'm going nowhere.

I suck at math, so majors requiring PreCal are out of the question.

I am so screwed.

majors that require precal? that's horrible. most majors, even liberal arts, required Calc I at least.

if you like graphic design, major in it.. doesn't matter if it takes you 10 years to get a degree

I'm lucky.. I'm able to major in CIS (my passion), Business Process Management, and Operations Management (just a few more classes to get 2 more majors).. along with a minor in Economics and Korean.. if I bust my ass off, I can graduate in 4 years. I think I'm going to take 5 years, though.. just because :)

I will have graduated 7 years after taking my first class. (of course I dropped out for a year and a half, but still)

6 Years for one major and even maybe a minor sounds like a long time. I am tring to finish a double major in psychology and computer science in under 5 years. I want to go to grad school after possibly for a PHd and don't want to be here for 10 years is why I am rushing to finish undergrad. Otherwise, I would probably want to take my time to finish, college is fun.

been almost 3 years since I took my first classes and I'm back at square 1 (tried 2 different majors, dropped out for a year, still clueless as to what I want to do)... whenever I figure that out, I'll go back, so I'm looking at 7 years or so... school > working full time anyways.

Stop complaining. When you get your degree it will be worth it. As you chip away at your credits, it'll be more encouraging.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going into my second year and I just switched over to Graphic Design. I've switched twice already, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick to this (since it's something I love to do). Lately I've had the brilliant idea of doing a minor (and depending on how that goes, possibly double major) in physics just because I also love it. Last year, the only thing I did was take GE courses too, so I'm going to be stuck here a while. It's no rush though, one more year isn't going to kill me (plus I'm having a great time). I'm not sure how it works that it will take you 6 years though.

You are screwed more for the fact you think 6 years of college will suck.
Anyone with sense would stay in college forever or as long as possible.

wow, they offer that in school. where do you go? 6yrs isn't that bad. i'm sure people have been in school longer. 4 yrs now seems kinda pushing it with some majors. especially with growing requirements. most people are starting to stretch it to 5yrs.

I graduated HS in 1992. I'm still in school, and will finish a year from this December. The longest stretch of "drop out" time I had is 4 consecutive years. I did alot of growing up and life-learning in that time. :)
