While I was doing cardio I saw a guy walk out the gym dragging his gym bag. It was like a suitcase with little roller-wheels on the bottom.

How lazy do you have to be to get one of those instead of just carrying your gym bag?

Maybe he has a back injury that prevents him from carrying heavy items on his shoulders. That doesn't explain what he was doing at the gym, though. ;)

They really take a lot of starin off your shoulder and back, which overtime can lead to a lot back and leg problems. Even more detremental to children who carry heavy books. It's actually a WISE decision, rather than straining oneself needlessly.

What would you bring to the gym that would weigh so much a rolling bag would be necessary?

What do you carry in a gym bag that is so heavy? All I carry is a set of gym clothes, a weight belt, and sometimes my iPod. I could see maybe also carrying a bottle of water and a pair of shoes, but is that really heavy enough to strain your shoulder?

I give up... He's a Metrosexual.... trying to act cool, show his wealth. You name it, any reason could be the case. Why not go ASK HIM why he carries such a bag. My comment shouldn't matter since I never met the guy anyway.

Trust me, I do :) I wouldn't even notice a guy walking by on a Mon-Thu, it's just that on a Friday night the gym is nearly empty.

If you had enough energy to focus on why somebody carries a certain piece of luggage you weren't doing an intensive enough cardio workout.

Did you ever stop to consider that the guy might be slipping in a gym session before leaving town on business or on his lunch hour and that the bag contained heavier things than his gym gear?

If I do it any more intensive the machine gets annoyed at me. I keep my heart rate around 160, if I go any higher it tells me I am "above zone".

As far as the second thing, that would make more sense if it really was a suitcase, but it actually had a gold's gym emblem. It was a gym bag of some sort.

seriously though, I used to see a lot of guys with practically luggage coming in to the gym near the the downtown office district I used to work out at. Some would come in in one outfit, change to gym clothes and leave in another. Some were students also coming in with a bag full of clothes and books and since they were bus riders there was no where they could put them.

I just carry a big gym bag. Has my OL shoes, 2 pairs of clothing in it, chalk bag, t shirt, 2 litre bottle of water, note pad, pens, towels. It is not heavy enough to warrent a wheely bag of sorts.

I have never seen this type of wheely bag thing in the gym!
