So I recently bought a house, moved in and signed up for cable TV + internet through my city. My city offers TV, internet, water, electric service....everything but gas.
So anyways my expanded basic cable(roughly 100 channels) + DVR, plus cable internet 6mbs down and 1mbs up(with free install for everything!) is $74.70 + tax a month. So the other day some AT&T guy knocks on the door says hey we now offer our U-Verse service here you dont have to be a slave to the city telecommunication service blah blah. He offers to match the city services I currently have for $79.99 a month. Except the internet was 1.5mbs down and 512kbs up and install wasnt free. But I'd get a $50 Visa gift card.
Me: Well, sorry it's not cheaper than my current service andhere is my bill, and unless you can price match AND give me the same internet speed + cable lineup I'm not interested.
AT&T tool then looks at my bill says: Oh you get 6mbs down for $35 a month......long silence...then "well 6mbs would increase your bill to 89.99(total) but its still cheaper than your current service because our 6mbs is faster and more reliable...and we'll give you that $50 visa gift card!"
At this point I ask him to explain how $74.70 a month is more expensive than $89.99 a month.
He gives me a blank stare back and says I'll give you a $150 Visa gift card! It will make up the difference in cost.
Me: Is the install free?
Him: No
Me: I like my current service have a nice day <door slam in AT&T tools face>
Can anyone else tell me how $89.99 is cheaper than $74.70 I'm still slightly confused!
And as an aside AT&T tell you retard salesman to read.....I have a no soliciting sign on my damn door for a reason so I can keep idiots like him off my porch.
