I've been to dslreports and all over the web and can't figure this out. When I had internet service through road runner it was very simple to set up my network.

With Cable:
I had a Cable modem coming in connected to a Linksys WRT54G with remote desktop port forwarding to my internal IP of my PC at home. I had port 80 forwarding to another network internal IP camera on my network. I was using dyndns to map so I didn't have to use the dynamic IP handed out by Road Runner. This all worked very well with the WRT54G handling all the port forwarding.

With DSL
I can remote desktop inside my network just fine. However I can't figure out how to set up my DSL modem to allow me to pass a remote desktop connection through the modem. The modem has an internal network IP of 192.168.0.1.

The firewalls on the PCs are fine with the ports. The problem is that I can't get through the speedstream modem to the linksys router to allow it to forward to the appropriate internal IP address.

Anyone know how to configure this DSL Speedstream 4100 modem to allow me to do what I was doing with the cable modem?

Do you mean a Siemens 4100 Speedstream modem?

Eitherway I didn't have to do any configuring on the modem end to get RDP, FTP, Web server working. I just did all my settings on the router, and my router was getting the internal IP from teh modem.

Have you logged into the Modem and checked settings on it.. Mine was pretty locked down as to what you could change.

Your DSL Modem is actually a combo Modem/Router.

Option 1. If possible, configure the Modem to work as a Modem bridge only and then use your Router as it is used now.

Option 2. Leave the DSL Modem/Router as is, and configure the ports opening in it in the same manner that you configured the Linksys.

If you choose option 2, the Linksys has to be used as an Access Point with a switch (I.e. leave the WAN side open).

Here how, http://www.ezlan.net/router_AP.html

My Speedstream 4100 is the crippled version from AT&T (formerly SBC). It doesn't have the ability to forward ports. Is bridge mode the only way to do this then? My understanding is that in bridge mode I cannot access the Speedstream via the web client.
