Lord, I hope they will get hit hard....

Wife goes to AT&T Store to change plan. Dude ask her to get to our account and do it there. 2 weeks later somebody orders a new $1000 phone as an upgrade and ships it 7 states east of me.

I go to same store to cancel order - ' no can do ' is the answer

I call ATT to cancel order - same as above. We can't help you.

I call fraud finally and they do help after 1 hour of hold time.

I call ATT to unlock the account, trying to set up a new password. ONLY LETTERS ,NUMBERS and UNDERSCORES ARE ALLOWED. Can't use special characters to make strong password.

This is their message:

We do everything we can to prevent cybercriminals from hacking your account. A strong password gives you even greater protection.

Actually, password length is much more important than allowing special characters. With upper/lowercase letters, numbers and underscores, each position has 63 possibilities. A 12 character password could then be any of about 3.9x10^21 combinations. No idea how many special characters there are but let's say 15, so that there are 78 possibilities for each position. An 11 character password in this case has about 6.5x10^20 combinations, about 6x fewer. So basically just make your password one longer and you more than make up for it. At some point, you'll need to make it two longer, around length 21-22.

Agreed that they sound useless when it comes to humans helping you, as all telcos are.

True, pwd length is crucial but still it might limit human brain to create long simplistic passwords.

It’s just poor training on part of AT&T. They should’ve transferred you to the fraud department from the beginning.

It’s why I like prepaid. No contract and no possible fraudulent charges to the account. I pay $100 for 5 lines with taxes and everything included and there are no surprises. And if I’m not happy, I can switch without any penalties.

Cricket but I don't think it's available for this price now. I got it couple years ago so I'm grandfathered in to the old price.
