AT&T has Cricket. Now Verizon has Total Wireless (Can bring your own phone too):

It's a step in the right direction but Cricket still offers a better value 20GB LTE for $55/mo with $5 pre-paid discount.

If Verizon coverage is rock solid in your area this is probably the best bet.

Right, right. Just like T-Mobile's $30 plan may be right for some and Ting may be good for others too.

At least we're getting a lot more decent choices in the prepaid field for all. ;)

Unlimited T&T and 2.5gb of data for $35 with BYOD? Not bad if you need Verizon coverage...

One thing that concern me about this is they do not have unlimited data for $35 as Virgin Mobile. You have to pay $10 to get extra 1.5GB of data. That's how I understand from my trip to Walmart's phone center earlier today.

This is currently nowhere near the same thing as Cricket, because it does not have LTE support. If I am not mistaken, Verizon is replacing their 3G network with LTE. So the available network for this MVNO is shrinking.

Also, Cricket is owned by AT&T. This company is owned by América Móvil, which owns other Verizon MVNO's such as TracFone, PagePlus, etc.

That being said the plans aren't that bad, BUT you have to work with a very limited phone selection and only 3G service.

Yeah not as good as Cricket, but could be great for a lot of people that are more price sensitive and/or have older phones and don't want to pony up for new ones and contracts. My Mom has an older feature phone that she was using on Verizon, then switched to Verizon pre-paid (where they make her get the smartphone ones for like $50 despite it not being a smartphone), so she might be able to drop to the $30 plan or the $35. I'm wanting to get her a new phone though, so wish I could see how Cricket would work for her (but don't have any cheap ATT/Cricket phones for her to give it a test month for) and then I'd probably pick up one of the cheap Lumias (or the 640/640XL when they come out).

Have to find out what phones my sister and her family have been using too, as if they're all Verizon and 3G then the share plans would be great for them.

D'oh! For some reason I assumed it would be LTE.

Well some still might be okay with this plan....

Yeah at least Cricket, T-Mobile, Ting, Straight Talk have LTE!
