AT&T Go Phone....anyone have one of these?

I was looking into one of AT&T's Go phones, mainly for the lack of a credit check and annual commitment. These things I like. They don't have a selection of phones really, but you beggers can't be choosers.

I was looking around their site, and they seem to indicate that you will HAVE to sign up for some kind of auto-payment option, which I HATE. I'll pay my own bills on time, thank you very much. Do any of you out there have the Go phone and plan, and can comment on this little tidbit? Could be the difference between me getting it and not.
