I know how much a lot of you guys hate AT&T, but seriously, I couldn't ask for anything better right now...
Back in April, my wife and I were on the 550 minutes family plan with two lines. We were paying around $74 a month. I called in to cancel one of our lines because we just couldn't afford the second line, but the cancellation department just gave us three months of $20 credits to our account to help out "due to the economy" and that I should let them know after the next three months. I figured, sure, I'll go for that. It's about the same we'd be paying for one line anyways, so three months go by and I call again to cancel the second line...
BAM! Same thing... except this time the lady tells me that they have leeway in their department and she offered to put us on an old 450 minutes (most people we talk to are AT&T so we never use all our minutes) plan which was $15 cheaper a month PLUS we got to keep our 3,500 rollover minutes. She then offers us a $20 credit for the next 4 MONTHS, again "due to the economy".
Sooo... we've been paying about $35 for our two line family plan and I called today to cancel the second line again... and you guessed it! They are giving us 4 more months of $20 credits! Seriously, I could get used to these $35/month bills for our two lines.
CLIFFS:
-We used to pay ~$72/mo for our two lines
-Now we pay ~$35/mo because AT&T is awesome
-I'll keep trying to cancel my second line to see if I can keep getting these sweet deals.
