I have had no problems since the switch over last weekend. It took the better part of an hour to get my router settings worked out and all 4 of my systems onlinel. But it is fine now and seems to be pretty fast. DSL reports but it at over 1Mb/s which is a lot faster then a modem to AOL.

the 1.5Mbs cap is just lame!!! I cancelled my DSL line to get AT&T couple months ago and now I'm back to that freakin 1.5Mbs cap.... Wish there were roadrunner or other cable service in my area so AT&T can kiss my a$$$ goodbye.
Works fine for me since it came up last Tuesday. Browsing is snappier despite the lower speed cap. I'm happy with the trade, the old speed was nice but I rarely used the full potential and peak surfing was buggy on the @home network.
I've been capped for awhile and the service seems a bit quicker now at peak times..
EDIT: HOLY CRAP~~~!! :| Nevermind.. my download speed is crippled.. should've tested that earlier.. oh man!!
you think the 1.5mbps cap is lame? better then an open bandwidth that will get severly abused. i've had that w/ comcast since it was available for us. what i'm afraid of is yet another price hike when they switch over to their own networks.
Well that is really disconcerning to read....I was about to get their internet service, but maybe I will hold off after reading that. I really hate the fact that I no longer have access to my school's network....you really don't know how good you have had it until it is no longer there.....ATT sucks!
I got switched over and my service is definately slower. Not to mention my username now comes up invalid, so I dont have email yet. Theres no way I waiting on the phone for 2+ hours to get it fixed.
well the cap is good for those areas where there are a lot of users, but where i live, there aren't, so the cap is really detrimental to me. i wish they would remove it.
Think the days of 4 megabits for $40 is over, AT$T is nortorious for buying networks and jacking up the price like they did with the old northpoint network.
As I've said before, AT&T has one month to get their network up to speed (1.5 should be the cap that I hit, I'm not even close right now). If they do not, my internet, cable TV, and phone service will walk.
Charter has had problems as well and I WISH 1.5m! I'm about half that.
Plus, Charter sent out an email stateing their service would cost the same as Excite. They lowered the modem rental $5 and raised the cost of service by $5 a month, so in fact the cost is $5 a month higher for worse service. I had planed on buying a modem, but with double the time of the return on my money I'll wait until after Christmas and hope for a killer deal to come my way.
