Damn. That is sick.

Makes a really excellent back up device at that price point, but the rebates at TD are always iffy it seems.

TigerDirect is pretty legitimate with their business, but their site's design is incredibly bad. It always has been - I have no idea how they get away with it.

Even for $100, it makes an excellent backup device. I've been using one for two weeks now, and I have no complaints. $55 is nothing short of a steal - I don't know of any other smartphones that fall into that price point, much less good ones.

Thanks. I need to get my daughter a new phone. Her iphone 3g on gophone plan is long in the tooth and while I'd rather get her something android, i may just go this route.

Wow. How much to unlock one of these? The cheapest I've seen in Canada was $99, but that was also carrier-locked.

Is the AT&T model compatible with T-Mobile?

If you're in a refarmed TMobile market you'll be fine.

But for the requirements for AT&T to unlock the device (active account for six months) you may as well just buy a Lumia 521.

The unlocking services I was looking at when trying to unlock my 521 were pretty expensive. Like $30 or so. I'd rather just buy the right device for the right network.
You can get a 521 for $115 off amazon:

Or $100 off of HSN:

And there's also a coupon code for $20 off. It's working as of this post. (135235)

So $80 delivered is a pretty good deal as well. At least then it would work on TMobile's AWS HSPA+ network.
