AT&T billing fiasco!

I'm having billing problems (understatement) with AT&T@home. They are billing our credit card, but they don't seem to know that they are doing it. We've been trying for 2 weeks to get them to look into it, but all they've been able to do, is tell us why they can't do anything. They claim that they stopped using the credit card to bill us, and that we were one month behind, yet they've billed our credit card again this month, AFTER we paid by check in the mail! Are we the only ones having billing problems with AT&T@home?

Here's a copy of the latest flame ...er letter we sent them:

"It appears that you've just billed our credit card AGAIN, as of
November 14! This is AFTER we've sent this months payment to you
directly, by check, with your mailed statement. We sent this
month's payment by check, because you claimed that we couldn't
use our credit card anymore since we were behind. I trust you
see the irony of that.

Something is wrong with your billing database. The portion of
the statement you want is the part we have to mail back with our
check! Call the bank with the number I supplied, 1-800-219-7941,
and request information from them about this problem. Don't tell
us what you can't do; tell us what you've tried to do.

We've talked with our bank this morning, and they've told us that
the charges are indeed from you, and we can put the credit card
charges under "Dispute, on lock". They are going to mail us what
info they have.

You folks are messing with us, and we deserve some recompense for
the hassle and lack of help we're getting from you. This is
double-billing, pure and simple. We can't be the only ones
dealing with this, so I'm going to post around and see if there's
class-action material here."

If you want you can get the FTC involved. If you even mention that you are talking to them they will sh!t their pants.
