Hi,

My computer is an Athlon 1.33Ghz with 384MB ram. My current video card is an Nvidia GeForce2 MX400 64MB. I have been given an ATI Radeon 7500 32MB. Which video card would be faster at playing 3d games such as Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Half-life?

Thanks!

The Radeon 7500! Check out these benches from Anand.

I have a Radeon 7500 (retail with 64MB DDR) and games based on Half-Life max out to the 99 FPS limit playing at 1152x864 with 2x FSAA and 2x AF. It can also play QIII-based games just fine with the same FSAA and AF settings but at 1024x768@32-bit. I can play Battlefield 1942 just fine at 1024x768@32-bit but with no FSAA and 2x AF.

Edit: Keep in mind that the article is old. FPS, especially on the R8500, has improved with ATi's Catalyst drivers.

The 7500 should be faster by quite a bit in alot of things, but I guess the MX might win in a rare few things due to have more memory. Id prob throw in the 7500.
