I don't get it. This is as low as they have it in ghetto stores on Pricewatch. No rebate or anything.

Are they lowering the MSRP?

seems like a good find, but it is non-Utlra, 128 MB, and they don't say how low it is clocked **. The Gainward golden sample at $369 will be faster (guaranteed heavy overclock) but who knows by how much?

** Outpost lists Ultra clock speeds, almost certainly wrong since non-Ultra stock speed is 400 MHz core.

Especially since Xtreme Gear has a low reslerrating.com rating and was spamming Hot Deals with fake testimonials recently.

btw, i remeber seeing this at frys B&M a few weeks ago: 360 - 60 instant rebate = $300

does anyone have any review for ANY 5900 NON ultra?

If you're in DFW (for QuakeCon or you just live here like me) I believe you can go down to the NVIDIA booth, do a survey, and get a $100 rebate offer good at Best Buy or Fry's/Outpost for any FX 5900 card (even works with online purchases since the local stores sold out.) I don't know if this is true for this card or what, but here you guys go:

My interest was piqued by the $199 pricepoint AR, but if it's at $249 now, I think I'll pass (I was an early adopter of the GF3 for some hefty dough and I regret it.)

The BFG 5900 FX 128MB is $299 (NO REBATES!) at Beast Buy B&M as of yesterday. Ya wanna know why the price just dropped $100? BECAUSE I BOUGHT A CHAINTECH FOR $340 FROM NEWEGG EXACTLY ONE WEEK AGO, THAT'S WHY!!!! F***ing FedEx hasn't even delivered it yet cuz the blackout has them backed up.

Why not just refuse shipment and go out and buy the BFG 5900 FX for 299?

Cuz it was part of a 5-piece order (CPU, HS, RAM, mobo, FX) and I couldn't reject just the card cuz it came in one big box. Also, the Chaintech is the only non-Ultra 5900 FX I've seen that has VIVO and it comes with some games and content creation SW. Dig the new scene here

With tax, the BFG comes to $318 and even w/o the 15% restocking charge, by the time I paid to ship it back, it'd be a virtual wash. I can afford the $20 difference, but it doesn't mean I have to be all happy when I get ahead of a price drop by less than a week.

I've always been cursed: I bought a Dreamcast 3 weeks before it got discontinued and price cut and a 2nd-gen iPod a few weeks ahead of the new models and subsequent fire sales (though I was able to buy one cheap and get credit for the expensive one.) I'm just (un)lucky like this. :(
