MysticMan1, seems like another good deal. You really are the CD-RW bargain hunter huh? Well he's another one for those who may have missed out on the previous 10 :D

Being new to hot deals, I only have one question. HOW DO I FIND THE OFFICEMAX $25 off $100 COUPON? :) I have trouble locating the promo code or coupon that you're talking about, can you point me in the right direction? Also, is this applicable to offline, in-store Officemax purchases? Thanks

So all drives are badged as CenDyne - but the guts are various manufacturer's? OK, Fine - but are they all capable of "burn proof" or "smart burn" so I don't make a coaster in one third of the time it takes to make a regular coaster? Or do I need a firmware upgrade to get the "brun proof"?

All 24x CD-RW drives use some type of burn proof technology.

For OfficeMax coupons do a search on Google.com key word "OfficeMax coupons" or turn on your "PM" to receive that information.

Hey i dont know about most but i would only get the Lite-on one of these drives...just because they are one of the best drives to get and read every type of copy protection to make a perfect copy...

I'd actually prefer the Teac to the LiteOn, but that's me. Doesn't rip stuff as fast, but seems to be big on accuracy and reading imperfect discs.

Got a feeling most people are going to get Acer drives though. When this was a B&M deal awhile back I went in to buy one. Every last drive there was an Acer. Had them check the pallets in the stockroom.

Trying to decide whether to do this or not. I know I can sell it on an auction site for more than that, but that's not my thing.

I wound up with the best of both worlds - got the LiteOn DVD-ROM at Dell, and the rebadged Teac burner last time this deal was around. My Cendyne rebate just came yesterday, actually.

Took me four OfficeMaxs to find the Teac - I got shipped an Acer and the first three OMs I went to only had Acers (Kansas City).

I just bought the cendyne 32x w/ that staples deal. But I was looking at this rebate and noticed that it had a $40 dollar rebate for the one I just bought. The staples rebate was for $20. Anyone know if I can use this rebate, or is it vendor specific? Thanx:)

Where exactly is the user supposed to input the promo code? There is nothing on the view cart page -- and yes I have over $100 worth of items in the cart.

Grrrrr! Yes they did change the price from $89.99 to $99.99. I guess that $89.99 price they had up on the web site was a mistake, so that kills this deal for now, but they usually put this CenDyne 24x drive on sale about ever 2 or 3 weeks, so in the next week or two the price should be back to $89.99 or less.

Duh! They changed the price again, now it's back to selling for $89.99 down from $99.99 they had it selling for yesterday. This has got to be the worse run web site in the world. :disgust:

I just tried the link to CenDyne rebate form (the one posted at the beginning of this thread), and it worked fine for me. The OfficeMax web site hasn't been operating correctly all week.

Damn this is hot. I wonder where I could find a midnight grey bezel for my Dell Dimension though.

Any ideas?

I ordered the Cendyne 24x10x40 drive and the high Val CD-Rs so that I could get the rebates, as well as the coupon code "04XX", where XX are the last two numbers of the coupon code.

I got my order confirmation today and it says:

OfficeMax items :
Item Name and Description Unit Qty Price Total Status
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
20076846 Cendyne 24x10x40x CD-RW Drive. $30 EA 1 $89.99 $89.99 DLV
20068784 CDR 16X 100 Pack Spindle 74min 100/PK1 $34.99 $34.99 DLV

SubTotal : 124.98
Tax : 5.0
Delivery : 0.0
_________________________________
Grand Total : 129.98

It's been quite a while since I have ordered from OM, but isn't the coupon supposed to show up in the final total?? I applied the code, and before I submitted my order it gave me a grand total of 104.98 (which would be the price if the $25 off $100 or more code was applied). Is it just me? Did I screw this up somehow? I've already been in contact with OM regarding this, but the guy I was talking to was not much of a help.

Any info would be much appreciated!!

Notice on the CDR rebate it must be postmarked within 7 days of purchase. This is cutting it close, especially if they use UPS (for me anyway).

Can online purchases be returned to the local store for purchase price? If so I'd be willing to chance it and just return them if they come late. If not....well, hmm

Office Max's page says "Products that are purchased on OfficeMax.com may be returned to an OfficeMax store location for a credit refund. Product returns may be exchanged if the originally purchased product is in stock at the store location. "

What I mean to be asking is for those who have tried, do you get stuck with a store credit or do they just pay you and have it over with?
