At home with flu...Any remedies???

What's the best thing (other than rest) I can do to shake this? I left work early yesterday and had to stay home today. Throat is killing me, bad cough, runny nose, sneezing and my entire body feels like someone beat it with a bat.

I'm taking zinc and drinking a lot of water. Are there any OTC meds or vitamins that will help me get through this quicker or does it have to just ride the course?

I haven't been sick in like 7 years and I forgot how much this sucks. 🙁

What leftyman said. Rest is the #1 thing you have to do. Colds have to run their course and usually that is 7 days.

jack daniels....

or

apple cider vinegar + lemon juice + honey = microwaved flu remedy
(it helps the throat and sinuses anyway)

I haven't been to work this week b/c I have the same thing (minus the cough). I went to my doctor and was given an antibiotic and Allegra-D.

5 days later, I still feel like ****** and my left ear is infected. I blame this asshole from work that came in last friday, coughing and gagging like he was about to die. He's about to retire, has close to 500 hours of sick leave, and works 4 hours on Fridays. WTF did he need to come in and spread his filth!?!

I'm supposed to start my vacation on the 24th. Now, I'm going to have to scramble to get everything cleared off my desk before I leave.
