Crappy pic from just after I took it out of the box last night

Mfgrs link

I could have gotten a cheaper .22, but boy is it nice and I think easily worth the price. Based on 10/22 action but with an AR15 trigger group, floating *really heavy* bull barrel, full length weaver. I think it has HK-ish styling.

I also picked up a Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40 scope for it but I've not had luck finding a bipod (which I'd like) locally.. probably have to mail order.

Anyone fellow Anandtechers' have one of these critters or shot with one before? I can't wait until this weekend to take it out.

OMG an evil black gun!!! Who are you planning on shooting up?!!

It looks nice, Bushnell makes some nice smaller scopes. Enjoy!

Nice looking build! Never seen anything like that personally.. I'd love to shoot it.

I just finished mounting my scope on the R22 - I'll take a couple pics and post them later.

Well, I was able to mount my scope today after having to exchange the rings for a higher set.

Looks pretty good IMHO... but really needs a bipod. These pics are a little clearer and you can really see the AR15 linage in the trigger system.

Oh, only 3 more years... only 3 more years...

It looks more like a G3 rifle than a AR15 rifle IMO.

Do I need it? No.. but it is very front heavy (the bull barrel is massive) and if I am going prone or on the bench going through 25 rds and keep it steady, it'd be nice. Plus, it would look great on this rifle, IMHO.

It'll be my little tack driver when I am done.

I agree, HKish lines, but the trigger group is true AR15.

Oh well... how old do you have to be to legally purchase and own one? And how much does one cost?

I'm Canadian so my laws are nothing like yours.. I can't say how old you have to be.. but if you are curious today is my birthday and I turned 33.

I paid $600CDN for it.. I think they go for around $500 US, but the small factory where they are made is supposedly out of stock (backordering) until something like March/April.

Well, there's a goal for me to set. :)

Anyway, nice rifle. How does it shoot?

Don't have the foggiest clue :( Supposed to be darn good though.

First day I've had is today to finish cleaning it up (stripping it and going through it) and mount the scope.. even then it was tough as we had a bunch of company being it was my birthday.

Ar15 my ass. Thats a G3 if ever I saw one....Kinda. Looks like a weird cross between a G3 and Ar15.

No range pics? I'm curious how it groups at 50 yards.

Otherwise, if i get a 22 I want a Feather RAV. But even more then that is I want an MGBI upper for my AR so I can have a removable barrel and fit it in a laptop case. Something about fitting an AR15 inside a laptop case is really cool.

Haha, well you should be firing it on your birthday. And this is your birthday gift I assume?

Oh, and happy birthday!

Read the thread. ;)

Trigger group *IS* AR15, but I do agree, real strong HKish lines for the rest of the rifle.

Woah, that's cool! If you wanted a pistol/rifle hybrid, though, wouldn't have been easier to buy one of These?

Isn't the CX4 aimed towards LE, and therefore not available/more expensive?

Heck - I can buy Storm's in Canada.. surely you can in the US? They're "relatively" inexpensive here too.
