You guys did UT3 and halflife but no cod4. cod4 is the most popular game out why not do a review on it?

from my conclusion of the FS review the game looks like it likes cards with more shader power. Just want to see if changing my x1800xt with a x19x0 XT should yield a more playble experience in the heavy vegitation maps. Just want to make sure my therory is correct.

The vegetation in CoD4 isn't shader based, it is just sprites. Are you using adaptive AA? If so, that will certainly slow down any card quite a bit in areas with lots of sprites. Moving to an x1900xt or better would likely help, but likely not a whole lot even with a x950xtx, and it's getting a bit late in the game to be spending any money on any DX9 card anyway.

well i can sell my x1800xt to some one and get an x1900xt for like 20 bucks more thats why i say x1900xt. but yea if u look at the FS review the 7900gt gets bested by a slower x1950 pro by a decent amount. so i was just wondering. and i THINK i do have my AAA on so ill turn it off when i get back.

I figured that, but I also figure you'd get a better bang for your buck if you spent a bit more on a 512MB 3850, or even a 8800gt.

I doubt they are they are testing with AAA, and am pretty sure you'll come in fairly close to the 7900gt and the x1950pro at the same settings.

1950xt would be whole lot faster than 1950pro in any game. AAA or not. It's still faster. $20 is definitely worth it.

thanks for the replies.

And about the 8800gt
well im talking about x1800xt and x1900xt and a dude replies with 8800gt. i dont have an extra 100-200 (whatever they go for nowadays) to throw into an upgrade. Thats why i want a performance review, for all i know the 8600gts 2600xt could overtake my x1800xt but highly doubtful.

and if i were to upgrade i would get the 3850

I would think 1950pro could take on 1800xt easily on games like Crysis or any of the newer games. So can a 8600gts. Maybe not 2600xt. :p

19x0xt would definitely give you a noticeable performance over 1800xt in newer games.

For $20 bucks I would jump on it and still ride out 19x0xt until next year.
