What do you guys think about it?

I'd like to see PriceWatch, PriceGrabber and coupons from TechBargains while we're at it ;)

It's still an ad. I'm not going to type anything in there.
Why not? Don't you support AT and all the free services they provide? When was the last time you paid for anything at AnandTech, save for a subscription fee, if any?

They provide a forum, same as a million other sites. And the forum is filled with content by the users, I don't come here to see the forum, I come here to see what the members are saying.

I'm perfectly willing to support Anandtech, but given that they took away the subscriber feature, they took away the only method I felt comfortable supporting them. So screw those ads. Not clicking, sorry.

I completely agree.

I understand the reasons for discontinuing the AT subscriber service but I was MORE THAN WILLING TO GIVE THEM $30 (or more) per year!

You do?

What were the reasons?

Were they not at least breaking even or something?

There was a thread in Forum Issues but basically fewer than 1% of the forum (entire or active membership? I have no clue) were subscribers.

To keep the subscriber services including credit card processing were not worth it.
