A pitiful 24km/15mi today. Took me an hour as well. Strava claims I did 1000 feet of climb, and I suppose that's correct, there were two steeper bits, and some minor climbs.

Still, no warmer than 9°C, but at least the sun did come out for a brief moment.
Cold air still giving me trouble, as does my horrible, horrible shape.

I just wish there was a way to do some stupid flat miles around here, just to get back into shape, these rolling hills mean I never really get into a rythm. And the ascents are too changing to build a rythm there either..

Also had some noise coming from the rear wheel during the first major climb, so quickly reset the rear wheel -> got plenty of brake noise on the descent.

Could've been worse, still feel quite idiotic even going on such a short ride, and worse, feeling this bad during it.

Build up a new (to me) ride. My buddy got the SL01 about 8-9 years ago. He rode it a few times, didn't like it, tore it down, and it has been sitting in his garage since. He gave it to me last week, and I built it up with parts I had lying around (bought the chain, cable/housing, and the handlebar). The frame is practically brand new under the cobwebs. Did my 20 mile fast loop, recording my fastest time by about 2 minutes! The ride is a bit stiff compared to my titanium bike, but not bad at all due to the carbon seatstays and fork. Nothing like an 80's Cannondale.

Well I finished the cross Florida ride on Sunday.

167.9 miles in one ride. This is my personal longest ride. The first 85 miles or so I averaged 24 miles an hour. It was a screamer of a pace for that long of a distance.

Also did 22 miles on Thursday and 32 today

37 miles today in my first real ride of the season.
I was doing quite well, until the last 10 miles, when my current calorie cut combined with being woefully out of practice just swamped me.
Legs just went into complete lock up.

The last climb (quite steep, but necessary to get home without a major detour) had me dismount at the bottom to get the legs somewhat limber and rested, still started cramping about 1/3 up and had to take another break.

While I did accumulate almost 2k feet of climb, this is still one of the worst rides (probably third to fifth worst :D) I went through.
I hope that with the weather getting better I'll be able to ride more regularly to get my legs back into a semblance of a shape.

+26 in 100 minutes. Not great, but considering the calorie cut, not too bad.

20 miles. Rear tire bit the dust. Ran over something that damaged the sidewall, causing a significant bulge. Didn't get a flat though.

50 yards and the read shifter broke. Left that POS Gary Fisher by the street overnight. It's still there.:(

Ate before the ride, which gave a welcome performance boost.

41 miles in full winter gear, because apparently we don't quite deserve summer yet.

Another 17 miles yesterday, to really put some hurt into the legs.

And obviously, 5 minutes out the door it starts raining, only to very briefly let up (by which point I couldn't care less) and then resume. At least it was warm enough underneath my winter combo, that I had no need for the rain jacket that I was carrying along.

Weirdly enough, the first third or so, my legs felt almost like they did at the end of Saturday's ride, but then miraculously freed up and I felt quite quick and confident on the remaining 10 miles. Sure the topology was rather more flat, but still quite undulating. Still, I managed to keep the cadence high, which often hurts on exhausted legs.

Now I just have to re-lube the chain, and maybe rebuild the bottom bracket before the next ride...
