Do we have an AT COD4 server? If not, I'd be willing to provide one, though I'll need assistance with its administration. It would be set up as an 18 player TDM server with no special tweaks (FF off, no hardcore or old school, etc).

Thoughts?

I don't need help setting it up... just people willing to be peacemakers.

I should have an IP soon...

It's all good. It's about ready to go. I'll PM you with the rcon info sometime tomorrow.

To anyone else interested in pitching in, please post here. I think 3 or 4 people should be enough.

I'd definitely play, but I'd rather hardcore. I haven't played non-hardcore in a long time.

It takes people to bring people... I can't provide the server *and* the players... that's what you guys are for :)

I'm still working on the problem with it not showing up in the browser, which surely isn't helping the player count.

Ok, it's all set... it's showing up now. I'll probably hang around on it for a bit.

Just checked to see if I can see it on the server list, and it's not showing up for me.

There was a problem in the config that was causing it to flip over to Free For All after 1 complete map cycle, which is why it was disappearing from lists that were filtered by TDM.

It's fixed now.

The server is going to be shut off on Tuesday. It's been dead silent since it was started up. My guess is it's because it doesn't have eleventy billion player slots, which PC players of COD4 appear to flock to. I'm actually coming to COD4 PC from the 360 version, where every game was 8v8, which seemed - to me at least - the perfect size for most of the maps. What I see online is an absolute spam-fest IMO; 25v25 sucks if you ask me.

Oh well... it was worth a shot ;)

i wish i coulda played, but my computer's too bad to run cod4 - so I'm sticking with the 360 version. 8v8 in the 360 version is definitely better than 25v25 (now, I know what people mean by COD4 = grenade fest - cause those people only played the PC version)

Thanks for trying

No problem. For the first time, I can honestly say that there's an FPS that is better on consoles than it is on the PC. While I may not be able to put my finger on it exactly, COD4 is simply more fun to play on the console than it is on the PC.

I have a Cod4 server that anyone here is welcome to use.
Bolts2 is the name
ip 63.211.111.127

10 slots
bolt rifles only
Extreme mod
FFA, Hardcore
No hopping, no marty, no last stand, no pistols
Custom maps
You can use any weapon that the mod allows.
Atlanta based
A little bit older bunch of guys plays there, mostly in the evenings.
The server belongs to a community of servers, we are not a clan, but a bunch of players that hang together. For more info you can check out our forums which are pretty new in relation to the servers.
www.codsnipersonly.com
There are mostly mod servers, mostly bolt or sniper class weapons servers, 8 total. Since these are sniper servers and the maps are larger in relation to the number of players nade spam is very rare, although during game play nades are allowed, but are actually directed at a target vs. just thrown at a spawn point.
