Where is the Native American icon?

They shouldn't discriminate.

If they let someone guilt-trip them into creating a native american avatar, they're going to have to make avatars for every country on the planet. It's the same argument from years ago about the American flag being created but other national flags (including Canada) being excluded.

It's a private forum.

Deal with it. :)

It wouldn't be hard to create an avatar for every state/country flag.

Maybe for you. However, those who are in charge of that sort of thing could have more to do than you do :)

My suggestion? Create one yourself and submit it :)

i was waiting for this clever question to come up to try and trick me into being a "racist" or "prejudice" because I'm assuming it's a chinese person based on how the avatar looks. And, that is exactly what I'm doing :) The "Asian" avatar has similar characteristics to that of a general Chinese person.

Seeing as how this is AT, we should also have an avatar of a plane on a treadmill. You could animate it so it would just be sitting in place, wheels spinning, and everyone would be like "wtf, your avatar is broken, the plane takes off."

Or maybe a bulk beef avatar. Just a big cross section of meat. Or one of those little diagrams that shows which part of the cow is which. Shit, I'd use that one...

So what? Fusetalk adds an Indian guy, then the other half chimes in saying it's racist against indians to use their image. It's racist either way, best to just never bring up the subject.

It's not so bad. The racism factor has gone down considerably ever since they removed the hitler avatar some years ago.

the avatars aren't chosen by anandtech. they are part of the fusetalk forum software. AMD has the same thing on their forums.

btw, how can a barrel of toxic waste be racist?

Don't quote me, but I think an AT member made them for FT. I'd say his name but I may not be remembering it correctly.
