AT / ATX Mobo PLEASE HELP for the love of....

Sorry for cross posting this .. I posted in Cases and cooling forum and haven't gotten any response after two hours... wrong place I guess.

I just bought a used Tyan Tyan S1590S mobo / K62 450 combo I'm putting together for a friend.. The mobo will accept either AT or ATX PS connectors, but I am having one MAJOR Problem....

The board has 8 slots.. the top most being an AGP slot, so this board will not work in an ATX case (and still use AGP which is what the vid card is - G400)..
The mobo also has a power switch header wich none of the AT cases I've been able to round up have. (You know the one right there with the HDD and power LEDs...

I just decided to set this all up in an AT case just to see if it would power on without the lead going to that header.... No go.. doesn't power on at all..

ANY ideas ....suggestions ?????????????

I've tried 4 PC stores around here (within 40 min.) and no one but CompUSA even carries AT cases, and they only have one model.. with NO power lead.
As far as I know there are no ATX cases with 8 expansion slots are there??

Please, someone help!!

He is supposed to be picking this PC up on Saturday, which leaved me no time at all to get a new case shipped...

Try the screwdriver trick by momentarily shorting pins 1 & 2 of the power switch header on the mobo, it should come to life. BTW, I've never seen an AT/ATX case w/o a power switch lead.

Got it cleared up... turns out you don't have to have that lead when used with an AT PSU..

My problem was I had the power connectors on backwards...

Lucky I didn't fry it I guess... and for prosperity :
Yes I AM AN IDIOT 🙂

thanks for the replies guys!!
