Hi all I know this might not be the best place to ask, but I though you all might know more since this does have to do with a case / mobo.

I just bought a used Tyan Tyan S1590S mobo / K62 450 combo I'm putting together for a friend.. The mobo will accept either AT or ATX PS connectors, but I am having one MAJOR Problem....

The board has 8 slots.. the top most being an AGP slot, so this board will not work in an ATX case (and still use AGP which is what the vid card is - G400)..
The mobo also has a power switch header wich none of the AT cases I've been able to round up have. (You know the one right there with the HDD and power LEDs...

I just decided to set this all up in an AT case just to see if it would power on without the lead going to that header.... No go.. doesn't power on at all..

ANY ideas ....suggestions ?????????????

I've tried 4 PC stores around here (within 40 min.) and no one but CompUSA even carries AT cases, and they only have one model.. with NO power lead.
As far as I know there are no ATX cases with 8 expansion slots are there??

Please, someone help!!

He is supposed to be picking this PC up on Saturday, which leaved me no time at all to get a new case shipped...

Are you sure it has 8 slots? As in the AGP slot doesn't line up with the top cutout in a standard ATX case? I ask because most motherboards will share an ISA and PCI using the same cutout in the case. I've never heard of a normal (non-server) motherboard that had more than 7 "usuable" slots, ie it may have 8 slots but only 7 of them are usuable because either a PCI or ISA will be unable to be used.

I would imagine that one of the ISAs is shared with a PCI and is unusable.. this doesn't really matter cause it the AGP port that's important... to use the video card I got for this.

If I put it in an ATX case.. the AGP slot is above the last slot in the case... I have put it in and tried.

ok update
I'm a RETARD... I had the AT power headers on backwards... don't need that power lead in the AT case.... switched around the power connectors and it's running.

boy don't I feel like an idiot :)
