Well, I am "upgrading" (read: basically building a computer from the ground up) an AT based system. I never figured that my keyboard and mouse wouldn't fit into an ATX mobo, but there is clearly no slot for the keyboard and none for the mouse, except for two slots that would fit, but they don't have a mouse icon. Is there an adapter I can buy for one/both or do I have to buy all new peripherals? Thanks for any comments.

There are adaptores, but they do not always work and are expensive if bought from the local retailer.

BTW, if it is an ATX mobo, there should be PS2 connections for both on board.

'slot' ?

'mouse icon' ?

???

Now's the perfect time to consider getting a new PS2 keyboard ~$11 and upgrading that tired ol' AT mouse for an optical-type.

Your serial mouse will still work. Just plug it into either of those "two slots that look like they would fit but don't have a little mousie icon" ;)

And buy a new keyboard, the adaptors are a rip if you buy them retail.

Thanx guys, I'm sorry if I'm a little unclear, but I think I meant ports instead of slots. Theres a round one for the mouse, a "socket" but my mouse has a rectangular "plug thingy" that you twist little things on the sides to get in. LOL:confused:
