At an nVidia overclocking session.

Hello all,

Just thought I'd share that I'm about to sit through an nVidia session on overclocking on the nForce platform at the Gnomedex 3.0 convention in Des Moines. I was talking with the presenter for a while just now. For one, I learned that the official nVidia term for the 5800 was the "leafblower". I'll update later if they have anything interesting to share.

Ok, here's an update.

I'm back from the session. The guy talked about some interesting stuff. For one, in the near future there will be a new WHQL release of the nForce drivers. This will include (but maybe a week or two later) fixed IDE drivers. These address the issue with some game CDs not being recognized. They do not, however, fix compatability with EAC. This is something that they are trying to work with the programmer on.

Also, he demoed the new nVidia OS based overclocking utility. It takes all of the BIOS overclocking features and makes them usable from the OS. This tool was very cool!

On a side note, I won an Epox NF2 400 board for answering a trivia question correctly😀

sounds good to me.... their software ide busmaster driver always gave me problems if i tried to use it.. fast as heck though. Good to know they are fixing the problem
