WSA ends at the end of 2024. Says AMD is obligated to buy 1.6 billion worth of wafers from GloFo until then.

Does GF have any new Fabs planned? They need to do something eventually.

No new Fabs, but there should be new phases for Dresden, Malta, Singapore.

There is suppose to be a hand off of Dresden's 22FDX to Singapore. As Fab7 absorbs what was meant for the failed Fab11. Which should allow GlobalFoundries to double FDX production. Allowed by two nearby inputs from Pasir Ris (SOITEC) plus Bernin II (SOITEC).

I believe the output that they want is 40% MPU/40% RF/20% other application.

Do to low demand of 14LPP/12LP/12LP+, the wpm should drop down from 55,000 to 15,000. As Fab8 shifts towards more mature nodes, which are very old. Leading to Fab1/Fab7 being GlobalFoundries' golden eggs. However, no idea when those two fabs will eventually adopt 12FDX after its specification freezes in Q4'21.

My understanding is Samsung is better on the FinFET fab front. Hence, the only nodes worth anything on leading edge at GlobalFoundries are 28ULP(blk)/22ULP(fdx).

(22FDX = (28*4)+4=116 for LL and (20*5)+4=104 for HP
(12FDX = (20*4)+4=84 for LL and (12*5)+4=64 for HP
