asynchronous FSB:DRAM ratios

here's my setup..

XP 2500+
FSB @ 166MHz
512 MBytes Mushkin Green pc3200 @ 199.6 MHz
Biostar M7NCD
AIW 9800 PRO
Audigy ZS
Antec 350W

I noticed via CPUZ that FSB/DRAM ratio was 5:6. It seems to me that the ratio would ideally be 1:1, but that's 'cause I'm a wine geek first and a computer-geek a distant second. Is such a ratio optimal, or does it hinder performance?

Thanks in advance.

That means your running your dram by "SPD" which is at DDR400 (what your ram is rated for), and your CPU is at DDR333 (166). You would get slighly better memory bandwidth if you go 166/166. by getting into expert settings and underclocking your ram to be in sync with your CPU. This is what I would recommend since the M7NCD has no voltages to offset overclocking, otherwise I would say to overclock your CPU to 200x11 to match your DDR200. This could be easily done onthe M7NCD Pro.

Thanks for the reply...went into bios and reset SPD to AUTO, which set FSB and memory clock to 166MHz.

Good deal. Your memory scores at 166/166 will be better than async. The nforce2 400 is a nice chipset too. Slighly faster in games than thier ultra 400 counterpart - even though not dual channel.
