ASUSP4T533 - 80 gig hard drive memory not recognized!!

I have built my computer and everything seems to be OK apart from the 80 gig hard drive is only recognised as a 2 gig hard drive - any ideas! We are only using one 256 RIMM Memory stick with one CT-RIMM as these sticks seem to be rare in the UK.

Also, I get a message at boot that indicates no CPU installed - as I know this is a common problem, is there some way of changing this message in the bios to 'Welcome' or something or could there be a real problem with the CPU?
