Well I have been holding off my new rig purchase until these boards are released ( I know the extra bandwidth doesn't help performance but I do want to future proof as much as possible) and Asus appears to be releasing theirs first. This was on their sight a a few days ago but I cant find it anymore. Has anyone sighted this board or other information anywhere? Also does anyone have any info on when DFI will be releasing thiers?

?ASUS proudly announces the A8N32-SLI Deluxe and P5N32-SLI Deluxe motherboards , which are the most powerful motherboards in our product line", said Joe Hsieh, Director of ASUS Motherboard Business. "The obstacle during development is to include a reliable thermal solutions. With ASUS' innovative designs to bring out the real potential of Nvidia's latest chipsets, gamers can enjoy faster graphics and higher video quality.?
High-performance GPU (graphics processing unit) is one of the hottest components in a computer system. SLI motherboards, with two graphics cards, require the best heat dissipation designs.

One of the reliable thermal solutions is Stack Cool 2. Originally implemented on the Intel 955 and 945 chipset platforms, the A8N32-SLI Deluxe and P5N32-SLI are the first Nvidia-chipset based motherboards with this zero noise feature. Stack Cool 2 is a fan-less cooling design that effectively transfers heat generated by the critical components to the other side of the specially designed PCB (printed circuit board) for heat dissipation and significantly decreases component temperature.

The P5N32-SLI Deluxe further pushes Intel based motherboards well into the extreme gaming segment. The dual x16 SLI architecture provides excellent scalability, and of course, renowned ASUS performance and overclocking quality will ensure an unparalleled gaming experience for Intel fans. "

Hey that's great and all...but hopefully they get the issue with the Vcore straight with the X2 processors before this board comes out. It would be nice!!!

My video card is currently running at PCI-Ex8 because I have the other PCI-Ex8 slot filled with my Areca Raid Card. There is NO difference between x8 and x16 when using a single 7800GTX - I still get over 9200 on 3dmark05 with it- and have never seen any sort of benchmark/program that shows a difference.

x16 x 2 is pretty overkill - but I guess the rest of the motherboard will be upgraded.

My thoughts exactly, I assume that this next gen will have ironed out a few more of the kinks as well. I hope we see this and the DFI board soon.

Does anyone know if the 4x lane on this motherboard is going to be a true 4x lane versues 2x on the A8N-SLI Premium? The connector on the current one is a 4x size but only has 2x lane speed and it is worthless in my opion. With 40 lanes available on these new boards, they will have an additional 8 lanes after SLI to play with and I hope the one additonal 4x lane is a true 4x lane. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated because I am forced to use one graphics card at the current time because I have to use the other 8x lane for a SCSI raid card.

Thanks,

Jam3,

Here is a picture of the new board from DFI. On the left is the new one with 40 lanes and the right is the old one.

uh, I don't think so. The one one the left features one chip solution. I don't see both the north and south bridge. It must be a revision with 20 lanes.

Nice to see DFI add a PCI slot to get up to three and the additional spacing between pci-e x16 slots.
