Seems the difference is the v edition has no wireless and no blue tooth. What is awsome is it has perfect reviews on the v edition.

The regular pro has some interesting problems mentioned. Most being noobie mistakes, but some that make me a little nervous.

Should I wait for newegg, or just pay the extra for the pro? I am not able to use the rebate as I just used it on another asus m/b.

A mobo that is more well known will always tend to have worse reviews, particularly those like "it slid off the box and hit my bare foot when I opened the package".

If the difference is just that, then I'd say it's a great deal. I have a Z87-A, which is about the same, and I'm happy with it.

That said, remember that motherboards of the same series are usually pretty much the same. The differences will mostly be in the features.

Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H:

Excellent board, with proper build quality and MOSFETs. Not even Asus's caps are as good ("The capacitors have a very nice black finish they are also extreme high quality 10K custom made capacitors, if you compare to even ASUS, they only use this kind of quality on their ROG line, their normal “Z87 gold” line is only 5K").

I've always seen Asus to be top of the line, but lately Gigabyte boards have been excellent. Overall I think they are close to tied for best mobo mfr. I have the Z87-UD4H and it is badass for the price.
