I am torn between these two. The MSI seems to have more features, but everywhere i look i see MSI has a large failure rate... but i dont see many "current" complaints.. more so last year or 2012. ive read people RMA'ing the boards they got returned to them from there previous RMA.. thats just terrible :(

Asus Z87-A not as many features.. still see some complaints about asus boards but not as many as the MSI. I just cant decide. I mean people who have good boards dont go on the forums and boost how they never had to RMA them.. so its really hard to tell.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Build is
I5 4670k
PH-TCDX12 cooler
16GB Patriot Viper 3 @ 1600
EVGA 680
Thermaltake Chaser MK-1 Fulltower case

Thanks

JMO I have used ASUS exclusively since ABIT went out of business. This board I use now "Maximus VI Extreme" is a great board but, I have a lot of problems with the software that comes with the board and Windows 8.1.
Now the only thing I need really is the ability to connect my wife's Nook to my computer's WiFi. This is why I need the software. Other than that the Mobo is simply awesome. AI Suite 3 just cannot be installed correctly in almost any circumstance, 7-8 or 8.1. The MemTweakIt software that comes with this board does not even work with this board so I am at a loss as to why they would even give us this software. So the board is awesome as long as you do not need the software that comes with it.

Really depends on what features you really need. I have the MSI, yes, first board had a PCIE slot issue, but the 2nd board has been running flawlessly ever since. I had no problems with the RMA, in fact I got my stuff back faster than anything previously. If they are both the same price, you might as well get the one with more features, but if they aren't and you are not going to use the extra features, save some money.
