Asus Z-170 A support DDR3 RAM?

My new DDR4 RAM is on the way, but Sueprbiiz is hella slow. Wondering if I can use my DDR3 RAM with it in the meantime.

Seems like most people are saying this is fine, though according to ASUS there's not explicit support.

My Asus Z170 A will not use ddr3 ram. The pins don't match.

No, it will not work. The only board I know of that supports both DDR3 and DDR4 is AsRock B150M Combo-G but even on that you have two DDR4 slots, and two DDR3 slots, instead of slots that support both.
