I just picked up a asus xonar dx from microcenter the other day.

Installed the card and i heard a funny click click noise coming from that area never heard it before. Then i installed the drivers and went to play codwaw and the game crashed.
I updated the drives and then everything was fine till today i can not game for more than 10 minutes and the computer goes blank and then says no single on my screen.

And when the system starts it always goes click click before entering into windows.

Any help would be great, thanks

doesn't appear as though you had much luck here. If you haven't already done so, I'd contact customer service. It sounds like either a power issue or the card. If you have a friend with a system you could test it in, I'd do that.

It's normal. The xonars use mechanical relays when you are turning on/off the card or parts of the card or changing your default output/input and it will make that noise as a result.

As for COD5 crashing, try toggling the DS3D GX on/off.

The Xonar Essence STX also?

I have one coming Monday and I'm sure I'd be freaked out about the unusual noise.

Mechanical relays in a sound card...whoda thunk?

Yeah the Essence should have it too. It's just a very brief clicking sound, nothing really outrageous.
